"We are committed to continuing to tighten sanctions against Russia as strongly as last year," Reuters quoted a US official as saying.
The latest US sanctions package includes Broadly restricting critical battlefield goods, preventing about 70 entities from Russia and third countries from receiving US exports by blacklisting them with the US Department of Commerce.
In addition, the US will announce about 300 new sanctions against individuals, organizations, vessels and aircraft related to financial support for Russia.
Washington's sanctions will be expanded to include many sectors of the Russian economy.
US officials said Washington would take important steps, in close coordination with the EU and the UK, to ensure the G7 remains as coordinated as possible in sanctioning Moscow.
Other G7 members will also continue to tighten Russia's access to the international financial system and pledge to keep Russian assets frozen until the conflict in Ukraine ends.
