Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Trade Union Do Ngoc Thuy expressed that in the exciting atmosphere of emulation to achieve achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Diplomatic sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025) and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry's Trade Union (October 1, 1950 - October 1, 2025), the Ministry's trade union members were delighted to come to Lao Cai to participate in training on working skills, and at the same time have the opportunity to learn about the reality and the socio-economic development situation in the border province of the Fatherland.
In particular, coming to Lao Cai - a northern border area closely associated with the history of the nation's revolutionary struggle, the delegation was honored to be welcomed by the Provincial Border Guard Command. All members of the delegation wanted to learn more about the tradition of building and growing the local border force and the practical implementation of the unit's mission of protecting the Fatherland's borders.

Presenting an overview of the force's activities in recent times, Colonel Kieu Phi Hung, Deputy Commander of Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard, expressed his gratitude for the affection and concern of the Ministry's Trade Union members for Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard officers and soldiers.
He said that Lao Cai Border Guard and functional units under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been closely linked and coordinated in implementing previous border demarcation and marker planting work as well as managing and protecting border lines, markers, protecting territorial sovereignty and border security at present.

According to Colonel Kieu Phi Hung, in order to perform well in the 182 km long border area with complex terrain, international border gates and people-to-people relations with Yunnan province, China, the provincial border guard force always focuses on educating officers and soldiers to have a firm grasp of legal documents related to border management. "Only when you have a firm grasp can you advise and mobilize well; otherwise, it will be very difficult to advise and mobilize," Colonel Kieu Phi Hung emphasized.
The Deputy Commander of Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard shared that in implementing border work, the measure of "people's hearts" and relying on people is vital. When the local government and political system are strong, the people trust and are willing to help, then the border guards can complete their tasks well.
In addition to training and combat, Lao Cai province's border guards also carry out many programs with strong humanitarian values, fostering the bond between the army and the people. In the programs "Helping children go to school" and "Adopted children of border guards", the provincial command and the stations join hands to mobilize funds every month to support children in difficult circumstances in the highlands to go to school.
The annual programs of giving seedlings and seedlings to poor households by the border guards have also achieved concrete results. These activities have contributed to strengthening the political system in the border communes of Lao Cai province. People's lives have gradually improved, and the relationship between the people and the border guards has become increasingly close and trusting. This close coordination is the foundation for border management and protection to achieve remarkable results.

On behalf of the Ministry's Trade Union, Ms. Do Ngoc Thuy presented a spiritual gift, with the meaning of encouraging and motivating the unit to continue striving to excellently complete its tasks at the frontline of the Fatherland's border, and at the same time expressing admiration for the spirit of resilience, dedication and tireless efforts of the officers and soldiers of Lao Cai province's border guards.
