This year, the city has nearly 89,000 junior high school graduates. With more than 70,000 10th grade places, the percentage of students passing public schools is 79%, up 14% from last year. However, due to the lower number of 9th graders this year, the total quota is about 6,000 lower than last year.

The 2025 Ho Chi Minh City public 10th grade entrance exam will be held on June 6-7. Candidates will take three exams: Math, Literature (120 minutes), and Foreign Language (90 minutes). If they register for a specialized school, they will take an additional exam in a specialized subject (150 minutes).

Students can register for up to 8 wishes. The admission score for general classes is the total score of three subjects plus incentive and priority points (if any). For specialized classes, the formula is the total score of the three subjects above with coefficient 1, plus the score of the specialized subject exam with coefficient 2.
