Nghia Hung women join hands to carry out social security activities

Nghia Hung District Women's Union coordinated with sponsors to present gifts to female members in difficult circumstances in the district on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2025.

Implementing social security activities for the community, the Women's Union at all levels in the district has promoted propaganda work, integrated into the Union's traditional days, branch activities, and club activities; focused on reviewing and grasping the number and causes of poor households, especially single women, disabled women, women in difficult circumstances, and poor households headed by women to provide timely assistance; organized activities to visit, help, and give gifts to poor households, Union officials in difficult circumstances, families with preferential policies, victims of Agent Orange, and poor students who overcome difficulties to study well; supporting livelihoods to help poor women stabilize their lives... In 2024, the Women's Union at all levels in the district contributed, called for, and mobilized units, organizations, individuals, and philanthropists to receive nearly 3 billion VND, and awarded nearly 7,000 gifts to poor women members, policy families in difficult circumstances, poor children, and vulnerable groups... In addition, female cadres and members in the district also actively participated in contributing to the "Hoang Ngan Scholarship" and "For Poor Women" Funds with a level of 5,000 VND/member or more. From this fund, the Women's Union at all levels has funds to award scholarships to children of poor members who overcome difficulties to study well, and to build houses of Love for women in especially difficult housing circumstances. Also in 2024, the Women's Union at all levels in Nghia Hung district awarded 126 Hoang Ngan scholarships, worth 68 million VND; mobilize, call for, coordinate with benefactors and philanthropists to build a new Shelter of Love in Dong Thinh commune with an amount of 70 million VND. In particular, implementing the "Godmother" program launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, up to now, the district Women's Unions at all levels have sponsored 47 children. Of which, the grassroots Women's Union has sponsored 31 children, with a support level of 200-300 thousand VND/month/child, the rest are sponsored by the district Women's Union, the district Women's Entrepreneurs Club and organizations and individuals, with a support level of 200-500 thousand VND/month/child. Joining hands with all levels and sectors to support and assist people affected by storm No. 3 (Yagi) inside and outside the province, the district Women's Unions at all levels have contributed, mobilized and called for nearly 1 billion VND; Typical Union units in this activity include: Dong Thinh, Nghia Hong, Hoang Nam, Nghia Phu, Nghia Hung, Nghia Son and Nghia Lam Women's Unions. In particular, Nghia Lam Commune Women's Union has coordinated to call for nearly 600 million VND in cash and in kind to support the people of Lao Cai province. Carrying out military rear work, the District Women's Union also coordinated with departments, branches and organizations to propagate and encourage young people who are children of women's union members to join the military, ensuring the military enlistment target in 2024.

Along with visiting, gift-giving activities, and extensive implementation of social security work, the Women's Union at all levels in the district has focused on reviewing and grasping the number and causes of poor households, especially single women, disabled women, women in difficult circumstances, and poor households headed by women, to develop timely support plans. Specifically, the District Women's Union has promoted the implementation of emulation movements: "Women help each other develop family economy", "Women are good at economics"... with diverse forms such as: helping with working days, helping access capital sources with preferential interest rates, helping with plants, seeds, livestock, opening vocational training classes, introducing jobs to members... Up to now, the District Women's Union is receiving entrustment from banking channels and financial institutions with outstanding loans of over 334 billion VND, supporting 7,938 households to borrow capital. Along with that, the Women's Union at all levels in the district has actively promoted and mobilized women members to participate in practicing savings. From there, there is a source of funding for members to borrow at low or no interest rates to develop the family economy. Currently, the Women's Union at all levels in Nghia Hung district is mobilizing savings of over 32 billion VND, attracting 19,767 members to participate. To create conditions for female members to develop the economy, rise up to become the head of the family and life, the Women's Union at all levels in the district also coordinates with the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education, and functional sectors to open 11 vocational training classes on animal husbandry, sedge weaving, duckweed weaving, and industrial sewing, attracting 385 female members. In addition, the Union at all levels coordinates to introduce and pass on vocational skills to 673 members. Implementing the Project to Support Women's Start-ups (Project 939), the District Women's Union launched the contest "Women's Start-ups in 2024" to 100% of the Union's bases. Of which, 1 project was sent to participate at the regional level. The District Women's Union also sent 2 start-up projects to participate in the contest "Searching for innovative start-up talents in Thanh Nam in 2024" organized by the Department of Science and Technology of the province. Actively participating in the activities of the "Women's Start-up" festival in 2024 organized by the Provincial Women's Union, the District Women's Union participated in displaying 1 booth, introducing 12 OCOP products, typical start-up products of female members in the district. The district also has 3 typical start-up projects recognized by the Provincial Women's Union. To encourage and motivate women to boldly start a business, the District Women's Union also organized a Fair to introduce clean and safe agricultural products, OCOP products, traditional craft village products, displaying and introducing over 100 typical products of cadres, female members and businesses in the district. In addition, the Women's Union at all levels regularly introduces clean, safe products, OCOP products, and craft village products of communes and towns in the district on social networking platforms, attracting a lot of attention from consumers. Along with that, implementing Project 01 "Supporting cooperatives managed by women, creating jobs for female workers by 2030", the District Women's Union organized a training conference on knowledge about collective economic development and building OCOP products, attracting 380 Union officials and women entrepreneurs to attend; organized for 100 women to participate in the online course "Women confidently doing business" organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union.

Implementing a variety of social security activities, for a meaningful community life, the Women's Union at all levels of Nghia Hung district has promptly taken care of the material and spiritual life of women. From there, it has created a strong spread, enhanced the role of the Union organization, attracted and gathered members to participate in activities; contributing to the implementation of the great goal of the Party and State "leaving no one behind".
