Parents are teachers too

On May 27, speaking with a reporter from Thanh Nien Newspaper, a leader of the People's Committee of Dak Glong District (Dak Nong) said that the police are still investigating and handling the case of a parent beating a teacher because he thought that because of her, his child was ranked as having average conduct, which recently happened in Quang Son Commune (Dak Glong District).

According to the leader of the Dak Glong District People's Committee, Mr. LMD, the parent who beat the teacher is also a teacher working at a school in Quang Son Commune. "The case is still being investigated by the police. We have also sent a report to the Provincial People's Committee," the leader of the Dak Glong District People's Committee added.

As reported by Thanh Nien Newspaper, on the evening of May 25, Ms. VTKQ (a teacher at Le Duan High School, Quang Son Commune, Dak Glong District) was at her home in Quang Son Commune when Mr. LMD suddenly came to her house, cursed her, and then assaulted her. Mr. D. is the parent of LMQ, a student at Le Duan High School.

Ms. Q. shouted and was stopped and helped by neighbors, who then reported the incident to the authorities.

According to initial assessment, the cause of the incident stemmed from LMQ's average conduct rating; possibly not meeting the requirements to take the entrance exam to some universities.

Previously, LMQ had been disrespectful to Ms. VTKQ, so she wrote a comment in her notebook. That was also considered one of the reasons why Q. was ranked as having average conduct at the end of the school year.

Regarding the above incident, on May 26, the People's Committee of Dak Nong province issued a document requesting the provincial police to investigate and strictly handle the case, and at the same time report to the People's Committee of the province.
