
On January 27 and 28, the Central delegation of the Vietnam Farmers' Union led by Ms. Bui Thi Thom - Vice President of the Central Union, and the Nghe An Farmers' Union directly visited and presented Tet gifts to families in difficult circumstances in Chau Thon commune (Que Phong district) and Chau Hanh commune (Quy Chau district).
Chau Thon Commune is a remote commune with many economic difficulties in Que Phong district. More than 80% of households are Thai ethnic people. The whole commune has 4,325 people, of which 39.91% are poor households and 26.6% are near-poor households.

The lives of people in Chau Thon commune mainly depend on agriculture. However, the cultivated land area is small and the climate is harsh, so people's lives are still difficult.
Chau Hanh Commune (Quy Chau) is a locality that suffered heavy damage due to the historic flood at the end of September 2023. People's lives after the flood are currently facing many difficulties, especially when entering the 2024 spring crop production, farmers in Chau Hanh commune are facing many difficulties due to the silting of rocks and soil after the flood, people have to spend time, effort, and money to overcome the consequences; improve the land.

Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Comrade Bui Thi Thom - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union shared the difficulties of people in Chau Thon (Que Phong) and Chau Hanh (Quy Chau) communes.
Hopefully, these small gifts will bring timely encouragement to people for a fuller and warmer Tet. The gifts are timely care from the Farmers' Association at all levels to families facing difficulties during the Tet holiday.

At the program, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union presented 80 gifts to 80 families in difficult circumstances in Chau Thon commune; 65 gifts to 65 families in difficult circumstances in Chau Hanh commune. Each gift included 500,000 VND along with rice and fish sauce.
Representatives of local leaders sincerely thank the sentiments and timely encouragement of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Union.

At the same time, expressed the desire to continue receiving attention from all levels of the Vietnam Farmers' Union in supporting economic development models, supporting science and technology, helping to improve people's lives.
