The delegation included representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; the Provincial Party Committee Office; the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; the Provincial Military Command; and the Provincial Police. Also attending were representatives of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh City and the District Party Committee, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Chau District.
According to statistics, in Nghe An province, there are a total of 1,328 Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign who are still alive. Of these, there are 525 Dien Bien soldiers, 547 youth volunteers, 172 frontline laborers, and 84 wounded soldiers. Nghe An also has 705 families whose relatives are martyrs, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.
Towards the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee issued a Plan to organize a meeting program to honor and express gratitude to heroes, martyrs, Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign in the province.
Nghe An province has also established working delegations to visit and present gifts to wounded soldiers, Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers.
In Dien Chau district, the provincial delegation visited Dien Bien soldier Bui Dinh Hoe, born in 1927, in Dien Hoa commune. Mr. Bui Dinh Hoe was a soldier of Battalion 542, Regiment 165, Division 312, fighting in the battlefields of Le Hong Phong, Tay Bac, Ly Thuong Kiet, Dien Bien Phu.
The delegation also visited and presented gifts to Mr. Le Van Giao, born in 1930, in Dien Cat commune. Dien Bien soldier Le Van Giao is a veteran of Battalion 215, Regiment 98, Division 316, who participated in the attack on Hill A1 during the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.
Visiting and presenting gifts to Dien Bien soldiers, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu and the delegation expressed their gratitude and respect for the great contributions and sacrifices of the veterans in the resistance war against French colonialism, contributing with the whole country to the Dien Bien Phu Victory "famous in five continents, shaking the earth".
On behalf of the Party Committee, Government and People of Nghe An province, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu sent best wishes to the family of the two elders, hoping that they will continue to live happily and healthily, uphold the spirit of Dien Bien soldiers, and be a spiritual support for their children and grandchildren.
In Vinh city, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and the delegation visited and presented gifts to Mr. Dinh Van Lam, born in 1934, residing in Hung Hoa commune. During the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, Mr. Dinh Van Lam fought in Company 9, Regiment 141, Division 312 (the same division as Mr. Bui Dinh Hoe in Dien Chau).
The delegation also visited and presented gifts to Mr. Pham Duc Minh, born in 1937, residing in Hung Loc commune. Mr. Pham Duc Minh fought in Battalion 674, Regiment 174, Division 316.
Visiting and presenting gifts to the families of Dien Bien soldiers, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu suggested that localities promote the tradition of remembering the source of water when drinking, care for, visit, support and encourage families of policy beneficiaries, families with meritorious services to the revolution, families of Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign in the area.
Touched by the attention of the provincial leaders, representatives of the families of the Dien Bien soldiers expressed their gratitude to the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee. The families of the Dien Bien soldiers wished the provincial leaders good health and excellent completion of all tasks assigned by the Party and the People.
