Party Development in Youth

Yen Bai - Identifying the Youth Union as a "socialist school" for the youth, an environment for the youth to practice, strive and mature, in recent years, the Yen Bai Provincial Youth Union (YYB) has always focused on implementing activities and movements to promptly discover, nurture and introduce truly outstanding people for the Party to consider admission. On average, every year, the number of outstanding members considered for admission by the Party Committee accounts for about 55 - 60% of the total number of new Party members of the entire Provincial Party Committee.

However, the rate of outstanding union members being considered for Party membership is not yet commensurate with their potential. The main reason is that a number of union members are not fully aware of the role, responsibility and benefits of becoming party members; the pressure of studying and working that union members have to face; leading to difficulties in balancing personal time and time and effort to contribute and mature; the negative side of the market economy causes a small number of union members to pursue material things, have a pragmatic attitude, and have moral degradation...

In the past time, the Youth Union has done a good job in education, through the dissemination and propaganda of the Party's policies and guidelines, the State's laws, and the major work policies of the Youth Union, which have been implemented by all levels of the Youth Union; the focus is on the activities: "Yen Bai Youth proudly marches forward under the Party's flag", "Party with Youth - Youth with the Party".

The study and implementation of directives and resolutions of the Party and the Youth Union have been promoted; 100% of full-time Youth Union cadres and 80% of young union members have been propagandized, studied and implemented the resolutions and policies of the Party; resolutions, conclusions and programs of the Youth Union, resolutions of Party congresses at all levels and the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party, in conjunction with continuing to implement Directive No. 05 of the Politburo.

The organization of revolutionary ideal education activities, traditional education, moral education, lifestyle education, patriotism, and national pride is widely deployed by the Youth Union at all levels in association with historical, political, and cultural events of the country and the province. Determining that the Youth Union is a "socialist school" for the youth, an environment for the youth to practice, strive, and mature, the Youth Union always focuses on creating a favorable environment and opportunities for the youth to strive and practice. From activities and movements, the Youth Union organizations promptly discover, nurture, and introduce truly outstanding people for the Party to consider admitting.

The most effective way to educate youth is through revolutionary action movements. The Youth Union has implemented many movements that have had a widespread effect, creating positive effects that have been enthusiastically participated in and responded to by young people, such as the movements: "Youth Volunteers", "Creative Youth", "Youth Volunteers to Protect the Fatherland".

In 2024 alone, the Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province have implemented 2,662 youth projects and tasks; focusing on building and repairing roads, "Lighting up the countryside" projects, building Charity Houses, playgrounds for children, repairing and building auxiliary works for schools, residential areas, etc.

The Youth Union at all levels organized over 511 activities to visit, help and give gifts to families with preferential policies, single-parent families, families in difficult circumstances, and poor students who have overcome difficulties to excel in life, work and study. During the year, 7,260 ideas from Youth Union members and young people were proposed; of which, over 356 ideas were supported to be realized.

The Youth Union also does a good job of accompanying young people in studying, starting a business, and establishing a career; accompanying young people in practicing and developing life skills, improving physical fitness, and spiritual and cultural life. In 2024, the Youth Union at all levels supported the construction of 6 community cultural tourism models; 18 youth start-up models, established 87 cooperatives, 11 cooperatives, and 11 youth-owned enterprises, contributing to family economic development, creating jobs for young people, and contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.

Through revolutionary action movements, young people have had a good environment to practice, contribute and mature. As a result, in 2024, the Youth Union chapters at all levels introduced 2,143 outstanding members to the Party, of which 1,179 outstanding members were admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam. On average, every year, the number of outstanding members considered for admission by the Party Committee always accounts for about 55 - 60% of the total number of new Party members of the entire Provincial Party Committee. Typical units in the work of developing Party members from young union members are Yen Bai city; Tran Yen District Youth Union and Yen Bai College Youth Union...

The work of developing new Party members not only increases the Party's vitality and makes the Party's grassroots organizations stronger, but also has a special meaning: improving the Party's leadership capacity and fighting strength. In particular, in the speech of comrade Do Duc Duy - Member of the Party Central Committee, former Secretary of Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee (now Minister of Agriculture and Environment) at the 15th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Yen Bai province, term 2022 - 2027, emphasized the key task of the Youth Union in this term: "Focus on building a strong Youth Union organization, worthy of being a reliable reserve force, a strong right-hand man of the Party, a socialist school for young people, especially, attaching importance to building a team of Youth Union cadres at all levels with good qualities, qualities, and ethics; having professional qualifications, working skills; enthusiasm, dedication, dynamism, creativity; having prestige, ability to gather, unite, and rally young people; having the ability to build and organize attractive movements and activities, keeping up with the psychology of young people; focusing on the work of discovering, training, and fostering to proactively select Select and introduce outstanding members to Party organizations at all levels, creating a source of successors for the Party.

Therefore, in the 2022 - 2027 term, the Youth Union continues to identify the key task of implementing practical activities to create an environment for young people to practice, strive and mature. In particular, the Youth Union at all levels will promote propaganda, education and enhance the revolutionary spirit and ideals of young union members through political activities associated with the anniversaries of major holidays and important events of the homeland and the country; diversify propaganda and education work in many forms, suitable to regional characteristics, attracting young union members to participate; focus on building and replicating models of studying and following Uncle Ho in all fields associated with continuing to implement the Campaign "Every day a good news, every week a beautiful story" on the personal pages of Youth Union officials, young union members, and fanpages of Youth Union - Association chapters at all levels. The Youth Union also regularly grasps the ideological situation and public opinion among the Youth Union members to promptly orient and advise on effective handling of issues.

At the same time, create an environment to attract and gather young people to participate in the activities of the Union, especially revolutionary action movements, volunteering for community life, for social security, supporting young people to start a business and establish a career. The Union continues to organize well revolutionary action movements, volunteering activities for community life, for social security such as: "Youth Month", "Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign", "Winter - Spring Volunteer" ... with specific projects and tasks associated with the socio-economic development tasks of the locality and unit and consider this as an environment and motivation for union members to practice, strive, contribute and have many opportunities to experience and mature from practice.

Through that, creating a practical and experiential environment will help young people see their position, role and meaning; thereby, living more positively, contributing to building a new generation of Yen Bai youth with "pure hearts, bright minds, and great ambitions" to meet the revolutionary requirements of the Party.

The whole Yen Bai province currently has nearly 40,000 union members and nearly 90,000 young people. This is a force and a source of abundant "room" for the work of developing young party members. Along with the fact that the TDYB always creates a good environment for young people to practice, each young party member, when joining the Party, carries within himself good ambitions and ideals, contributing his efforts to the development of the Party, of his homeland, of the country and that ideal will urge the young generation to strive to become party members, ready to devote their youth.
