The 5-episode film, directed by Nguyen Love, revolves around the turning points in the youth of San - a smart and passionate Mong girl (Cu Thi Tra).
San has a beautiful love with Nu (Lai Thanh Ha) - a border guard. One day, San is shocked to hear that her lover died while on duty. While the pain of this loss has not yet subsided, the young girl is burdened with worries because her parents are in debt, the family's tea growing profession is fading away and the family's tea hills are at risk of being bought by loan shark Tu Bac (People's Artist Quoc Anh) to be used as industrial land.
Amidst these storms, San accidentally meets Hoang (Thuan Nguyen), who replaces Nu at the local border post. Overcoming initial misunderstandings, San gradually develops sympathy for the Southern soldier. With the help of friends who work as livestreamers, the young couple strives to preserve the green Shan Tuyet tea hills and the proud traditional work of the Northwest land.
According to the producer, the film is an attractive spiritual food for ethnic minorities and at the same time gives the public nationwide an insight into the cultural aspects of the indigenous people in the highlands.
As rising names on the screens of both the North and South, Thuan Nguyen and Cu Thi Tra were trusted by director Nguyen Love to play the male and female lead roles.
For the first time transforming into a Hmong girl, Cu Thi Tra was delighted to wear colorful, meticulously woven brocade clothes. The beauty born in 1999 hopes to fully portray the portrait of a progressive, kind and enthusiastic Hmong girl, contributing to bringing the film closer to the audience.
