Development of aquatic raw material areas

On March 26, the People's Committee of Son La province had a meeting with the Vietnam Aquaculture and Seafood Processing Joint Stock Company - VIETFOOD VN on the plan to release fish fry to develop raw material areas associated with protecting, exploiting and linking seafood consumption at Son La hydroelectric reservoir. Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives of a number of departments, branches and related units.

The plan aims to create a sustainable chain of links between local people and businesses in the production and consumption of aquatic products. At the same time, change the production and exploitation methods to create an aquatic environment with large output, high economic efficiency, and sustainable stability. Form key aquatic products to improve the economic efficiency of the reservoir. The specific goal is to build a chain of links in production and consumption of aquatic products with an output of 7,000 tons/year, increase 1,000 workers with stable income, and establish community organizations to manage and protect aquatic resources.

At the meeting, delegates proposed solutions to ensure stable purchasing prices for local people, provide necessary support to build management communities, and focus on locally advantageous aquatic products.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong basically agreed with the investor's plans; requested departments, branches and sectors to synthesize comments and complete the plan to submit to competent authorities for consideration and approval. The development of the plan must take into account environmental impacts, efficiency, and ensure harmony of interests between the state, businesses and people. Requested districts and towns with reservoirs to closely coordinate with investors to review implementation locations and plan issuance mechanisms. At the same time, focus on propaganda to raise awareness and responsibility to create consensus among people and communities to build sustainable linkage chains, thereby increasing income for people in the reservoir area./.
