Recognizing the importance of digital transformation (DXT) in production and business development, in recent times, the collective economic sector and cooperatives in the province have also made efforts to apply the advantages of DXT not only to optimize operations and improve production and business efficiency but also to contribute to improving capacity and competitive advantage in the market.

Promoting internal capacity for digital transformation in cooperatives Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, Director of Mai An Tiem Agricultural Cooperative (Nga Son) uses a smartphone to check the growth and development of crops.

The province currently has 1,329 cooperatives in operation, creating regular jobs for 40,975 thousand workers. Through review, hundreds of cooperatives in the fields of agriculture, industry, and handicrafts have applied digital technology and digital transformation in production and business, and over 70% of cooperatives have applied social networks to introduce and promote products. Many agricultural and non-agricultural cooperatives have applied software to manage data and trace product origins.

Ban Tho Forest Garden Cooperative, Hoa Quy Commune (Nhu Xuan) is one of the units with "young age" but has actively applied technology to production. In particular, many production and consumption stages have applied digital technology. Through the application of modern science and technology, the Cooperative has processed a number of key products, such as: fermented honey, ginger honey, turmeric honey... It is worth noting that most of the products are promoted and consumed through digital platforms.

Ms. Nguyen Le Ngoc Linh, Director of Ban Tho Forest Garden Cooperative, said: "Applying digital transformation to production and business is inevitable to improve product quality and promote consumption, especially for a unit in a "remote area". Therefore, in addition to self-studying in books, newspapers, and television, the Cooperative also actively participates in product consumption training sessions organized by departments, branches, and units. The Cooperative has built the website vuonrungbantho.vn and participated in many e-commerce platforms to promote and consume products. In addition, recently, we have also conducted livestream sales online through social networks such as zalo, facebook, tiktok...".

It is known that, in addition to promoting products through digital platforms, during peak times such as holidays, Tet... Ban Tho Forest Garden Cooperative also implements many discount and promotion campaigns to stimulate consumption, increase the competitiveness of products on the market. Thanks to that, in 2023, the Cooperative consumed about 20 tons of honey, processed honey and many other products. Of which, more than 50% of the output was consumed through digital platforms and implemented digital technology applications.

Although digital technology is a new field, Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, Director of Mai An Tiem Agricultural Cooperative, Nga Thach Commune (Nga Son) has been quick to absorb, learn and skillfully use applications on smartphones to apply to production. Instead of having to go directly to the garden, at exactly 9:30 a.m. every day, with just one operation on a smartphone, the entire 6,000m2 of safe vegetable, root and fruit production in the greenhouse of the Cooperative has been watered at the right time and dosage. Mr. Nam said: "With the drip irrigation system and sprinkler irrigation operated through a smart sensor system controlled via phone, crops are maintained with scientific humidity so they grow and develop well. In addition, applying digital technology also helps save costs on labor, water, nutrients and some other costs, contributing to increasing profits for producers".

It is known that in addition to applying digital transformation in production, Mai An Tiem Agricultural Cooperative has also successfully applied the advantages of digital transformation to promote product consumption. Currently, some products of the Cooperative such as ginger honey, safe vegetables and fruits are being consumed through the commercial channel nongsanantoanthanhhoa.vn and many other e-commerce platforms.

In 2023, the Provincial Cooperative Union organized 4 training courses on digital transformation, application of e-commerce in production and business... for nearly 200 cooperative members to participate. In which, the training courses integrated digital transformation content, such as: electronic tax declaration, electronic skills, propaganda, trade promotion, application of digital transformation in consumption... Thanks to that, cooperatives have caught up, operated, and maintained the operation of digital booths on e-commerce trading floors, such as: voso.vn, postmart.vn... At the same time, creating a change in thinking about development, application of science, technology and innovation, impacting on improving productivity, quality, and efficiency of production and business of cooperatives.

In reality, the number of cooperatives in the province that have applied digital transformation is still small, and digital transformation in production and business activities of many cooperatives still faces many difficulties and limitations. In particular, many cooperatives have limited resources, so they have not invested in modern machinery and equipment to serve production and business, and do not clearly understand how to implement digital transformation in production; production organization is mostly still in the traditional way, small-scale production, outdated technological infrastructure, limited human resources, etc.

Mr. Le Hong Hai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union, said: "In the coming time, the Cooperative Union will continue to accompany and support cooperatives in the process of implementing digital transformation to meet market requirements. In particular, focusing on supporting cooperatives to promote internal resources for digital transformation, helping to improve efficiency in the process of promoting, producing, trading, managing cooperatives, improving techniques, applying scientific advances in production and processing, creating many quality products that meet OCOP standards".
