Accordingly, out of 81 people who have been and are working at Chau Tien Company Limited who were examined (November 8), 57 people have pneumoconiosis. Of these, 19 people have severe disease, 25 people have moderate disease and 13 people have mild disease. There are 2 people whose X-ray films are blurry so they cannot be identified.
All medical records have been transferred to the Council of the Institute of Occupational and Environmental Health (Ministry of Health) for consultation and conclusion on occupational diseases. Patients with the disease have been consulted by doctors and given specific treatment instructions.
It is known that there are still more than 30 people who used to work at Chau Tien Company (some of whom are currently abroad, working far away in the provinces) who cannot be directly examined.
On December 7, 2023, the Department of Health will coordinate with units to continue organizing examinations for nearby cases.
Recently, the Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper has published a series of articles reflecting on the situation of many workers who have been working at the stone powder processing factory of Chau Tien Company Limited suffering from pneumoconiosis and many cases have died.
Thus, up to now, 6 workers who used to work at Chau Tien Company have died from silicosis. The latest death (November 28, 2023) was Mr. Hoang Van S. (47 years old), residing in Nghi Hung commune, Nghi Loc district.
