The report of the interdisciplinary inspection team of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee pointed out violations by Chau Tien Company Limited (located in Nam Cam Industrial Park, Nghi Loc District, Nghe An) in complying with the law on occupational diseases, working environment, and implementing social insurance and health insurance policies for employees.
These violations directly affect the health and legitimate rights of workers.

Chau Tien Company Limited was established in 2005, licensed to produce stone powder with a scale of 40,000 tons/year and produce wall putty powder with a scale of 30,000 tons/year. After that, this company expanded production, processing superfine white limestone powder with a scale of 180,000 tons/year and processing quartz powder with a scale of 150,000 tons/year.
The company uses silica pebbles to produce white silica powder as raw material for stone pressing plants and steel boiler lining stones of steel mills. The company has 34 employees, of which 28 are direct workers.
Five out of eight workers at the company have been diagnosed with silicosis, one of whom has died. Three out of eight workers are being monitored for suspected occupational exposure to silica, two of whom have died. Another worker has died, the cause of which is unknown.

Authorities identified five workers being treated for silicosis and five other workers with related lung diseases.
The interdisciplinary inspection team requested Chau Tien Company Limited to be responsible for workers suffering from occupational diseases and work accidents.
Accordingly, the company must fully and seriously implement the responsibilities of an employer towards employees who have occupational accidents or diseases; have other support policies for employees and relatives of employees who have occupational diseases or accidents and have worked or are working at the company.
Based on the report and recommendations of the interdisciplinary inspection team, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has given opinions on handling violations and wrongdoings of Chau Tien Company Limited.
The Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Health to conduct an investigation into occupational diseases for the 4 deceased workers, and determine occupational diseases for 10 workers being treated for silicosis and lung disease as a basis for assessing the level of reduced working capacity.

Nghe An provincial leaders assigned the provincial Social Insurance to force Chau Tien Company Limited to overcome shortcomings and limitations in complying with the law on implementing social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance policies for employees as well as collecting and resolving the regime and benefits of employees suffering from occupational diseases and work-related accidents...
The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs is responsible for directing Chau Tien Company Limited to overcome shortcomings and limitations in implementing legal regulations on labor safety and hygiene; and guiding the company to fulfill its responsibilities as an employer towards employees who suffer from work-related accidents and occupational diseases.
In the document handling the results of the inspection of law compliance at Chau Tien Company Limited, the leaders of Nghe An province also assigned specific responsibilities to the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone, the Provincial Labor Federation, the People's Committee of Nghi Loc district, enterprises and workers to overcome the shortcomings that have been pointed out, ensuring a safe working environment as well as policies for workers.
If Chau Tien Company Limited fails to promptly remedy the existing problems, limit environmental issues or fails to meet the requirements, it will be dealt with. Nghe An Province also encourages and assigns relevant units to support and facilitate Chau Tien Company Limited to change its investment goals to be environmentally friendly.
