Launching the environmental research contest “Green Dream”

The Green Dream Contest organized by Tien Phong Newspaper aims to raise awareness, contribute to changing behaviors and lifestyles in the community to join hands in protecting the environment and adapting to climate change. The contest also aims to honor groups and individuals with practical and meaningful environmental protection activities, contributing to spreading a green lifestyle in the context of environmental degradation, pollution, and increasingly severe and unusual natural disasters.

In his opening speech, journalist Phung Cong Suong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief in charge of Tien Phong newspaper and Head of the organizing committee, said that environmental pollution and climate change have directly impacted the lives of each person, requiring a change in awareness, lifestyle, and actions to join hands in protecting the environment and adapting to climate change.

On April 13, 2022, the Prime Minister issued Decision 450 approving the National Environmental Protection Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, which clearly stated the viewpoint: environmental protection is the responsibility of the entire political system and the whole society, in which local levels, businesses, communities and people play an important role. The Decision also mentioned one of the important solutions is to strengthen environmental ethics education, love of nature, and build a culture of environmental protection for Vietnamese people. Raise awareness, turn awareness into action on environmental protection, form and develop a green, environmentally friendly lifestyle.

In accordance with the National Environmental Protection Strategy, in order to contribute to raising awareness of environmental protection and climate change, with the desire to spread a green lifestyle, close to nature, Tien Phong Newspaper organizes the launch of the Green Dream Contest nationwide. The organizers hope to receive the participation of all citizens, especially students - the future generation of the country.

The program "Green School - for a Green Hanoi" is implemented in schools with contents such as: reducing air pollution; minimizing plastic waste; saving energy, using clean energy; saving water... through which each student is a propagandist, propagating to grandparents, parents and relatives in the family to implement together, contributing to raising people's awareness of environmental protection...

With 4 forms of competition: multiple choice, writing, photo and video, the contest not only raises awareness for students in environmental protection and climate change adaptation, but is also an opportunity for them to express and share their thoughts, stories and environmental issues that they care about.
