Launching the contest "Join hands for traffic safety" in 2023

In order to promote propaganda, popularize laws and raise awareness of traffic safety and order, the National Traffic Safety Committee in coordination with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Communist Party of Vietnam Electronic Newspaper (Central Propaganda Department), the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Vietnam Insurance Association organized the Launching Ceremony of the Contest "Joining hands for traffic safety" in 2023.

The 2023 "Joining hands for traffic safety" contest takes place from October 9, 2023 to December 9, 2023.

Implementing the Traffic Safety Year Plan 2023, following the success of the 3 "Joining hands for traffic safety" Contests in 2020, 2021, 2022, the National Traffic Safety Committee coordinated with the Communist Party of Vietnam Electronic Newspaper, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Department of Social Affairs (Central Propaganda Department), the Motor Vehicle Insurance Fund (Vietnam Insurance Association) to organize the "Joining hands for traffic safety" Contest in 2023.

The contest aims to strengthen the propaganda and dissemination of laws on traffic order and safety; improve knowledge and awareness of compliance with traffic order and safety laws for all people; contribute to building a culture of behavior when participating in traffic.

This is one of the practical activities to implement Directive No. 23-CT/TW dated May 25, 2023 of the Central Party Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in ensuring traffic safety in the new situation, and Directive No. 10/CT-TTg dated April 19, 2023 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the work of ensuring road traffic safety in the new situation.

With the theme of Traffic Safety Year 2023 being "Respecting the law to build a culture of safe traffic", this year's Contest focuses on the following contents: Party's guidelines, State policies and laws on traffic safety; knowledge and skills to handle situations to participate in traffic safely; cultural behaviors when participating in traffic; legal regulations on compulsory civil liability insurance of motor vehicle owners.

Contest content: Understanding the Party's policies and the State's laws and policies on traffic safety and order; knowledge and skills in handling situations to participate in traffic safely; cultural behaviors when participating in traffic; legal regulations on compulsory civil liability insurance of motor vehicle owners.

Contest format: The contest is organized in the form of weekly quizzes on the Communist Party of Vietnam Electronic Newspaper, VCNet social network and electronic newspapers/magazines, websites/electronic information portals of agencies, units, and localities with links to the Contest. Contest link: atgt.dangcongsan.vn .

Contest method: answer multiple choice questions, summarize answers and award prizes weekly (Contest rules attached).

Exam time : 10 weeks, from October 9, 2023 to December 9, 2023. Candidates can start taking the exam on the Contest system (Link: atgt.dangcongsan.vn ) from 10:00 on October 9, 2023.

Contestants: Vietnamese citizens and foreigners currently residing in Vietnam, aged 14 years or older at the time of taking the exam, are eligible to participate. Members of the Organizing Committee, Content Committee, and Secretariat of the Contest; officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers of the National Traffic Safety Committee and the Communist Party of Vietnam Electronic Newspaper are not eligible to participate.

Prizes: Each week of the competition has 6 prizes, including: 01 First Prize: 2,000,000 VND; 02 Second Prizes, each prize is 1,500,000 VND; 03 Third Prizes, each prize is 1,000,000 VND. Along with the prize money, the Organizing Committee of the Competition will award Certificates to the individuals who win the First, Second, and Third prizes in each week of the competition.

The Organizing Committee of the Contest also plans to reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing and implementing the Contest, and localities and units with the highest number of contestants and many winners.

The Organizing Committee of the Contest respectfully invites the people of the country and foreigners currently residing in Vietnam to participate in the Contest, and at the same time widely share information about the Contest to attract more and more participants. The Organizing Committee also hopes to receive the attention, cooperation and support of departments, ministries, branches, central agencies; localities, units, schools and press agencies nationwide for the Contest to be successful.
