"At MU, we don't have much time. I won't have time either. We need to quickly show our true role," Amorim emphasized. "Some players have worn the MU shirt. They understand the pressure here is very big. Sometimes you don't have enough time, while young players need time to develop."
Amorim believes that for the young players to develop to their full potential, the team needs a solid foundation to build everything on. "They have had their chance and sometimes that's football. The pressure of playing for Manchester United is really big," the Portuguese coach added.
Netizens believe that Amorim's statement is also aimed at individuals who are shining after leaving MU such as Antony, Scott McTominay or Anthony Martial. Most recently, Elanga also made his mark on the day of meeting his old team with the only goal, bringing victory to Nottingham Forest in the early morning of April 2.
Elanga previously came through the youth system at Old Trafford before moving to Forest for £10m in the summer of 2023. He is having an excellent season with 7 goals and 8 assists in the English top flight.
"MU taught me a lot and I will always be grateful. But now, I enjoy my football and want to continue to improve," Elanga said after the match.
The loss to Forest left MU stuck in 13th place with 37 points.
