The event attracted nearly 7,000 athletes from 72 countries, competing on beautiful running routes along Da Nang beach.

Pham Thi Binh makes a splash again

Nicknamed "Barefoot Queen", athlete Pham Thi Binh continued to affirm her form when she won the women's 42km event with a time of 3:01:57, surpassing last year's personal record (3:10:32).

Binh competed fiercely from the first kilometers and made an impressive breakthrough in the last 10 kilometers.

Following Binh, athlete Le Thi Ha tried her best to finish with a time of 3:02:37, while Nguyen Thi Tra Giang finished third with 3:02:51.

In the men's 42km event, Huynh Anh Khoi surprised everyone by winning the championship with a time of 2:33:55, significantly improving on the 2024 record (2:37:14). Second place this year went to Yujiro Daidoji (Japan) with a time of 2:34:29, and Le Tan Hi came in third with 2:34:24.

Khoi also recently participated in the Ho Chi Minh City Marathon 2025, where he finished 17 seconds behind Japanese athlete Yujiro Daidoji. However, in the race in Da Nang, he pulled ahead and won by 34 seconds.

Khoi shared: "The weather in Da Nang is ideal and the beautiful running track is a factor that helped me achieve good results. Although I had some health problems after 30km, I tried to break away from km 38 to finish first. This was really a close competition."

In the 21km distance, Trieu Thi Binh (female) and Govendarajoo Vimal (Malaysia, male) were the new champions. Meanwhile, in the 5km distance, Nguyen Van Khang and Ly Mui Sau both entered the gold medal list with results of 0:15:15 and 0:17:50.

Van Khang, who recently won the 10km championship at the Ho Chi Minh City Marathon 2025, revealed that he will conquer longer distances in the future.

The Da Nang International Marathon is not only a sports competition but also an event connecting culture, sports and tourism, attracting the attention of the domestic and international communities.
