Petrolimex opens Sports Festival to celebrate 70th anniversary of its establishment in the South Central and Central Highlands regions

On November 8, 2024, the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group) opened the Sports Festival for Workers, Civil Servants and Employees (CNVC-LĐ) in the South Central and Central Highlands regions in Nha Trang city. This is a two-day event (November 8-9, 2024) opening the Sports Festival - Competition program in particular and a series of overall activities in general to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Petrolimex's founding (January 12, 1956 - January 12, 2026).

Leaders of the Party Committee of Khanh Hoa Provincial Business Bloc, Leaders of Petrolimex, Vietnam Petroleum Trade Union presented souvenir flags and flowers to the athletes' delegations.

Attending, congratulating and encouraging the competitive spirit of Petrolimex employees competing at the Sports Festival was Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Khanh Hoa Provincial Business Bloc Le Thi Ngoc Suong.

On Petrolimex's side, there were Deputy General Director Nguyen Xuan Hung; Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union - Chairman of the Vietnam Petroleum Trade Union, Head of the Arts and Sports Subcommittee to celebrate 70 years of Petrolimex Nguyen Thanh Son; representatives of the Standing Committee, Executive Committee of the Vietnam Petroleum Trade Union; members of the Arts and Sports Subcommittee, representatives of the Group's Youth Union, leaders of Petrolimex member units in the South Central - Central Highlands region and more than 400 athletes from 10 units participating in the following events: Mini football, volleyball, tennis, badminton, table tennis, tug of war, chess, pickleball.

On behalf of Phu Khanh Petroleum Company (Petrolimex Khanh Hoa/Company) - the coordinating host unit, there was Party Secretary, Chairman and Director Duong Dinh Long - Head of the Organizing Committee of the South Central and Central Highlands Sports Festival.

Over the past 70 years, the Petroleum industry has always been associated with the country's development, the labor - production emulation movement, the cultural, artistic and sports movement have always received investment attention from the Group and its member units. Aiming to compete to achieve achievements to celebrate the important events of the Country, the 70th anniversary of Petrolimex's establishment (January 12, 1956 - January 12, 2026), the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Petroleum Industry's Traditional Day (March 13, 1928 - March 13, 2028), the Group has issued a Plan and Regulations for organizing Sports Festivals and Competitions throughout the industry to create meaning and motivation to increase sports training, improve health and solidarity of employees to complete production and business activities well as promote the tradition of solidarity, determination, readiness to overcome all difficulties and challenges, promote the building of spiritual life, corporate culture, create an atmosphere of striving to compete together to build Petrolimex to develop more and more strongly.

This is also an opportunity to encourage mass physical education and sports movements; create conditions for workers to exercise, improve their health and physical fitness, exchange experiences, contributing to the implementation of the program of building grassroots cultural life and implementing corporate culture, contributing to encouraging Petrolimex employees to be determined to successfully complete production and business tasks in 2024 and the following years.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Sports Festival, Petrolimex Deputy General Director Nguyen Xuan Hung highly appreciated the organization of the opening event, which had an important meaning of creating momentum, jointly implemented by the Group's Arts and Sports Subcommittee, the Sports Festival Organizing Committee and the leaders of the units in the South Central and Central Highlands regions. The Group's leaders asked the athletes to promote the spirit of solidarity, compete honestly and nobly but ensure safety, preserve the beauty of sports competitions, and create a meaningful mark to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group.
