Core unit implementing Resolution 57
On December 22, 2024, the Politburo issued Resolution 57 on scientific and technological breakthroughs, innovation and national digital transformation.
General Secretary To Lam, Head of the Central Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation and National Digital Transformation, affirmed: “Developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation is a decisive factor in the development of countries; it is a prerequisite and the best opportunity for our country to develop richly and powerfully in the new era - the era of national development".
With the determination to "untie" and remove bottlenecks, promote the development of science and technology, at the 9th extraordinary session, the National Assembly is giving opinions on the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on piloting a number of new policies to immediately remove obstacles and difficulties in science, technology and innovation activities.
Speaking at the Conference to review 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025 of the Ministry of Information and Communications in late December 2024, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that the Ministry of Science and Technology is the core force to realize this particularly important Resolution.
In addition, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung also affirmed that Resolution 57 is similar to Resolution 10 for agriculture 40 years ago, but this time it is for science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. Resolution 10 is to escape poverty. Resolution 57 is to escape the middle-income trap. With Resolution 57, from lacking science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, we will move towards sufficiency, surplus, export and large-scale export of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, just like we have done with agriculture.
According to Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, Resolution 10 is to liberate labor, Resolution 57 is to liberate creativity. The common spirit of both Resolution 10 and Resolution 57 is to manage by objectives, regardless of the way of doing things, to give autonomy and responsibility to workers, and for workers to benefit from the fruits of labor and creativity.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung was born in 1962; hometown Tan Hong commune, Tu Son district, Bac Ninh province; professional qualifications: Master of Engineering, Master of Business Administration, Radio Telecommunications Engineer. He is a member of the Party Central Committee (terms 12 and 13).
