Samsung expands AI features to One UI 7
Developed in partnership with the Korea Internet Security Agency (KISA), the feature uses AI to automatically detect and block malicious spam messages, including those related to lending, gambling, and adult content. The AI is capable of analyzing the content of messages, the sending phone number, and links in the messages to determine whether they are signs of spam.
This is a strong measure to protect users from phishing attacks and malware, which are often spread through spam messages. This feature complements the existing spam blocking system of mobile carriers in Korea, creating a two-layered protective 'shield'.
Samsung confirmed that the feature has been rolled out on the Galaxy S25 series and will soon be updated to other Galaxy devices when they receive One UI 7. However, at the moment, there is no information on whether the feature will be expanded to other markets.
However, Samsung also left open the possibility of developing similar features for other markets, depending on the regulations and needs of each country.
