In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the supply is low, the price is stable, the warehouse purchases are moderate, and the rice price is stable. In An Giang, the price is stable, the warehouse purchases are slow. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the price is moderate, the price of raw rice is low, the price is moderate.

At retail markets, rice prices have not been adjusted for individual rice products. Regarding rice, it is noted that rice transactions in localities are moderate, rice prices fluctuate little, and farmers offer stable prices.
Specifically, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, today's rice prices are unchanged compared to yesterday, IR 50404 fluctuates around 6,900 - 7,000 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice is at 7,400 - 7,600 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice is at 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg; OM 18 rice is at 7,500 - 7,700 VND/kg; OM 380 fluctuates from 6,800 - 7,000 VND/kg; Nhat rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 is at 6,900 - 7,000 VND/kg, and Nang Nhen rice (dry) is at 20,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, the sticky rice market recorded no adjustment compared to yesterday. Long An sticky rice (dried) 7,000 - 7,900 VND/kg, stable compared to yesterday. Regarding rice, the price of rice recorded no adjustment compared to yesterday. Specifically, IR 504 summer-autumn raw rice was at 11,050 - 11,150 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice was down to 13,200 - 13,300 VND/kg.
In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice was at $435/ton; 5% broken rice remained stable at $559/ton; and 25% broken rice was at $524/ton.
According to a report by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first 7 months of 2024, Vietnam exported 5.18 million tons of rice with a turnover of 3.27 billion USD, up 25.1% in volume and 5.8% in value over the same period last year.
In the first 7 months of the year, the rice planting area reached 6.25 million hectares, up 0.2% over the same period last year; harvested 3.82 million hectares, up 1.3%; average yield was 65.6 quintals/ha, up 0.5 quintals/ha; rice output on the harvested area reached 25 million tons, up 2%.
Compared to a year ago – when the rice market was bustling due to the impact of India’s rice export ban – the current rice price is also at the same level. The rice market has almost established a new price level.
However, the export price of rice compared to a year ago recorded a slight decrease. Specifically, on August 3, 2023, the export price of 5% broken rice from Vietnam was at 593 USD/ton; 25% broken rice was at 573 USD/ton.
