Having worked in the Farmers' Association, in 2015, Ms. Oanh took on the role of Chairwoman of the Ward Women's Union. With her new assignment, Ms. Oanh constantly learns, spends time participating in activities at women's associations, gets close to members to understand their thoughts, listens to their contributions to build more practical models and activities of the association.
Over the years, Ms. Oanh and the Executive Committee of the Women's Union of Tran Hung Dao Ward have built, deployed and maintained many effective models to help members and people in difficult circumstances. Notable models include the "Community Support" model at women's branches, with a fund of nearly 160 million VND, providing many members with low-interest loans; the "Collecting scrap to raise funds for the association - protecting the environment" model, with an annual revenue of more than 10 million VND or the "Giving is Forever" model, mobilizing philanthropists in the ward to give gifts to members and poor and disadvantaged women from 30 - 40 million VND/year...

In addition to building humanitarian and charitable models, Ms. Oanh also organizes many cultural - artistic, physical training and sports activities, attracting many women to participate. Ms. Oanh said that with the desire to attract, connect and help members and women in the ward become more confident and bold in collective activities, in 2022, I mobilized women to establish 2 folk dance clubs, with nearly 50 members. After that, I directly built a training plan, selected people with experience and dancing skills to guide everyone... Over the past 3 years, the folk dance clubs have been very active; many members have participated in performances, competitions, and served local cultural and artistic programs.
With her contributions to the work of the association and the women's movement, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Tran Hung Dao Ward, Le Thi Kieu Oanh, has been recognized and rewarded by many levels and sectors. In particular, Ms. Oanh was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Women's Union for the title of "Excellent grassroots union official" at the 13th National Women's Congress in 2024. |
In particular, to create a playground, increase connection and exchange for women, Ms. Oanh also implemented many programs and activities such as Ao Dai performances, folk dance performances on International Women's Day March 8, Vietnamese Women's Day October 20... At the same time, Ms. Oanh also launched a program to support traditional Ao Dai to give to members and women in difficult circumstances in mountainous districts and communes in the province. This activity has received enthusiastic support from women. On average, each year, the Ward Women's Union organizes the donation of 70 - 80 Ao Dai sets to women in difficult circumstances.
As a dedicated and responsible union official, Ms. Oanh also accompanies and helps women with startup ideas and starting businesses in the ward. Ms. Oanh and the Executive Committee of the Women's Union of the ward organize many exhibitions, introductions and connections to consume products of members and women; at the same time, support capital and support members and women to start businesses. Ms. Dao Thi Thu Lieu, in Group 5, Tran Hung Dao Ward, shared, 2 years ago, I started a business with velvet zinc flower products and received a lot of support and encouragement from Ms. Oanh. Although busy with work, Ms. Oanh always cared for and encouraged me to boldly start a business and often called on members and women to buy and support my products. The Women's Union of the ward also created conditions for me to display products at conferences, programs and supported capital so that I could have more conditions to buy production materials. Thanks to that, I am confident in production and business, bringing stable income for my family.
