This year, the province has 8,181 candidates registered to take the 10th grade entrance exam. The province allocated 24 exam sites with 367 exam rooms located in 7 districts and cities. The total force mobilized to serve the exam is more than 1,100 people. Candidates take the exam in 3 general subjects, including: Math, Literature, English and specialized subjects for candidates taking the exam at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted. Compared to the previous school year, this year's exam was held 2 days earlier; 100% of students registered to take the exam online; inspection and control were strengthened in all stages of the exam. The enrollment target for grade 10 high school in the 2024-2025 school year is 6,490 students/152 classes, an increase of 244 students. Regarding the admission method, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted conducts an entrance exam (280 targets); Boarding high schools for ethnic minorities and the remaining high schools (public system) implement the method of combining entrance exams with admission (6,210 targets).
On the morning of June 1, candidates took the Literature exam, with a duration of 120 minutes. At the exam site of Chu Van An High School (Phan Rang-Thap Cham City), reporters found that the exam was well organized in all aspects. Security, order, and traffic safety before, during, and after the exam were ensured. At the exam site of Le Duan High School (Ninh Son), many parents brought their children to school early in the morning to take the exam. On the main roads, traffic police regulated traffic so there was no congestion. Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Hong, Dac Nhon village, Nhon Son commune (Ninh Son), shared: I was afraid that my child was not familiar with the road, so I took the opportunity to take him to Le Duan High School early for peace of mind, to prevent unwanted situations. To reduce stress and pressure for my child, during this period, my family often spends time talking to and guiding my child to balance study and rest time, and let him participate in his favorite activities to relax. Along with that, I also pay attention to the nutrition in daily meals, not putting pressure on my children during exams.

At Dinh Bo Linh Secondary School (Ninh Hai), many candidates were present at the exam site quite early, taking advantage of the time to review their notes, discuss, and encourage each other to enter the exam with the best mindset. Teacher Tran Minh An, Head of the exam site at Dinh Bo Linh Secondary School, said: This year, the exam site has 10 exam rooms with 235 candidates. The staff, teachers, and employees serving the exam were mobilized to ensure quantity, quality, professional training, and full exam regulations, with 36 exam supervisors alone. The first exam day at the school site took place safely, smoothly, and in accordance with regulations, with no cases of exam supervisors or candidates violating exam regulations, and 1 candidate absent from the exam.
To help candidates participate in the 2024-2025 school year's 10th grade entrance exam safely and achieve the best results, the Ninh Hai High School Youth Union established a volunteer team with 41 members to direct traffic, avoid traffic jams and support candidates when necessary. On the first day of the exam, the team supported 4 candidates who forgot their ID cards and study materials, 1 candidate went to the wrong exam location, provided drinking water and accommodation for candidates and their parents, etc.
At the end of the Literature test, most candidates said that the test was within their ability and closely followed the curriculum. Many candidates left with a happy and excited mood. Pham Thi Tuyet Tran, a student at Tran Quoc Toan Secondary School (Ninh Son), taking the test at Le Duan High School, said: The content of the Literature test was mainly in the second semester curriculum of grade 9 and was carefully reviewed by teachers, so she did the test quite smoothly. Sharing the same thoughts as Tuyet Tran, Le Hong Quy, a student at Tran Quoc Toan Secondary School, taking the test at the same school, expressed: I found this year's Literature test was within my ability. In the first questions, I did the test quite quickly because this was basic knowledge. When it came to question number 2, the Text Creation section, I saw the difficulty level start to increase, requiring candidates to think and argue about their knowledge. After the Literature test, I felt comfortable and quite satisfied with my efforts. For Nguyen Huynh Thuy Mai, a student at Quang Trung Secondary School (Phuong Hai Commune, Ninh Hai), this year's Literature exam was within her ability, had a familiar structure, but was also very profound and clearly classified. The questions had been reviewed by teachers for similar types of questions, so she did relatively well on the test. Teacher Huynh Thi Thu Cuc, Head of the Literature - Civic Education Group, Tran Phu Secondary School (Phan Rang - Thap Cham City), shared: This year's Literature exam has a similar structure to previous school years and differentiates students' academic ability; questions 1 and 2, the Reading Comprehension section are very easy to score. Good and excellent students can easily get a score of 7 or higher; students with average academic ability can still get over 5 points. The way the exam is written is modern, the content of the exam is suitable for students' ages, guiding them to a beautiful and meaningful lifestyle, knowing how to give, receive and contribute to society.
In the afternoon of the same day, candidates took the English exam, with a duration of 90 minutes. Many candidates said that the English exam was part of the 9th grade curriculum, and the level of the exam was not too difficult. Su Thi Nhu Y, a student at Le Van Tam Secondary School (Phan Rang-Thap Cham City), taking the exam at Thap Cham High School, said: Before entering the exam room, I was a bit worried because English is my weak point in all my subjects. But when I received the exam, I felt relieved because all the grammar and vocabulary were familiar, part of the 9th grade curriculum and had been reviewed by my teachers. Thanks to my solid knowledge, I could read and understand the content of the questions easily, taking only about 70 minutes to complete the exam and spending the remaining 20 minutes to check my answers. Meanwhile, Au Bang Bang, a student at Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School (Phan Rang-Thap Cham City), taking the exam at the same location as Thap Cham High School, said: I found the exam not too difficult. The test format is familiar with 2 parts: multiple choice and essay. I think my answer is about 70%. Hoang Minh Thuy Tien, a student at Le Hong Phong Secondary School (Phan Rang-Thap Cham City) taking the test at Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, shared: The English test is not tricky, it follows the curriculum, but I did quite well on the question of writing a paragraph when I heard that a foreign friend was coming to visit me. I will continue to keep my spirits up and prepare for the Math test tomorrow.

On the first day of the exam, the officers, supervisors, and exam service staff performed their assigned tasks, ensuring the exam was safe and in accordance with regulations; Candidates proactively arrived at the examination site on time, focused on taking the test seriously and in an orderly manner; no candidates or invigilators violated the examination regulations; 9 candidates were absent from the exam.
Comrade Nguyen Anh Linh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, said: Thanks to good preparation, the first day of the exam took place safely, smoothly, and in accordance with regulations. The whole province had 127 candidates absent from the Literature exam, 126 candidates absent from the English exam; no unusual incidents occurred; no invigilators or candidates violated the exam regulations.
