In 1993, he was awarded the title of Professor and the title of People's Artist. For his contributions to the art of Cheo, he was awarded by the State: the 2nd State Prize for Literature and Arts (2001), the 5th Ho Chi Minh Prize for Literature and Arts (2017).
In his final years, People's Artist Tran Bang lived with his son's family - Meritorious Artist Tran Luc. His health declined, but he still diligently read newspapers, updated news on social networks and skillfully used smartphones and tablets.
