New countryside, new look, new vitality

Clean roads, spacious houses, rice fields full of grain, bright smiles... show the appearance, vitality, development and change in all localities in the province. By mobilizing all social resources, promoting the spirit of solidarity and unity in implementing the New Rural Development Program, localities in the province have been promoting advantages, exploiting potentials, creating breakthroughs in production, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

Consensus for common goals

Starting point of building new rural areas in 2012, with 5/19 criteria, after 10 years, with the joint efforts of the Party Committee, the local government, the people and the support of the State, Tho Van commune, Tam Nong district has completed the goal of building new rural areas. In 10 years, the total mobilized capital of the whole commune reached over 22.5 billion VND, of which the capital from the National Target Program reached over 3.6 billion VND; the State budget capital and other mobilized sources reached over 14.8 billion VND, the capital mobilized from the people and other capital sources reached over 4 billion VND. From the movement, the rural appearance in Tho Van has increasingly improved, the material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved.

The new rural construction program has been implemented by Tam Nong district since 2011, through the emulation movement "Tam Nong is determined to join hands to build a new rural district" along with resolutions, programs, and projects developed and launched to agencies, units, localities and people, Tam Nong district has mobilized the entire political and social system to participate in contributing resources and building new rural areas. Over the past 12 years, the whole district has mobilized nearly 2,200 billion VND in investment capital for the new rural program. Up to now, the whole district has 11/11 communes meeting new rural standards, of which 2 communes are advanced new rural areas; Hung Hoa town meets civilized urban standards; 19 model new rural residential areas. Tam Nong district was recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting new rural standards in 2023.

Similarly, Thanh Ba district identifies new rural construction as a key, continuous, and long-term task. Implementing the emulation movement "Thanh Ba joins hands and unites to build new rural areas", by 2023, Thanh Ba district will have 18 communes recognized as meeting new rural standards; 3 advanced new rural communes; Thanh Ba town meeting civilized urban standards; 22 model new rural residential areas. From the synchronous investment and development of socio-economic infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for living and production and business, the material and spiritual life of the people has been improved. Thanh Ba has gradually become a district with harmonious and sustainable development of industry and services, and the appearance of the countryside has been renewed in a modern, bright, green, clean, and beautiful direction.

With the joy of being a citizen of Thanh Ba New Rural District, Ms. Vi Thi Ha Phuong - Dong Thanh Commune excitedly said: Enjoying the achievements of the new rural area today, we are very excited, especially in the fact that people are the subject, are able to grasp, participate in the work and tasks of the locality. With the support of the State, each person participates in contributing money, donating land, people give labor... to enjoy the worthy results together. Many elderly people in the village and commune happily said that if only the program had been implemented earlier, so that people could enjoy more and longer.

No rest, no stop, no stopping point

According to the report on the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Development for the 2021-2023 period by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, during this period, the whole province mobilized over 4,820 billion VND to build new rural areas. In particular, along with the central capital sources for development investment and career capital, local budget sources, combined capital and mobilized capital from enterprises and communities accounted for a significant number. It can be seen that, with many creative and unique ways, bearing the characteristics of each locality, the new rural construction program has left many strong impressions.

Lam Thao is the first district of Phu Tho province as well as of the Northern midland and mountainous region, the 13th district in the country to be recognized by the Prime Minister as a new rural district in 2015. Not stopping there, the district continues to build a "livable countryside" with 5/10 communes recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards, including 3 communes meeting model new rural standards; 48.9% of residential areas are recognized as model new rural residential areas. Currently, many new rural construction movements in residential areas and communes in the district continue to be deployed and expanded, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere and an excited spirit among the people.

Determining that building a new countryside is only a starting point, not an ending point, after achieving the new countryside standards in 2017, Ban Nguyen commune, Lam Thao district continues to strive to build an advanced new countryside commune. In particular, the consensus and support of Ban Nguyen people, especially in donating land and assets on land to build new countryside, is an important factor for the whole commune to continue to "accelerate". It is known that the whole commune has over 200 households proactively donating residential land, demolishing houses, fences to expand roads, with a total area of ​​over 2,500m2, estimated to be worth over 10 billion VND. Land is inherently a valuable asset, donating land, cutting off a part of the land left by ancestors, a part of the family's assets is a concern for many people. However, with the awareness that donating land to build new rural areas is for the community and for themselves and their families, many people are willing to put aside personal feelings for the common goal.

As of September 2024, the whole province has 6 district-level units recognized as meeting standards, completing the task of building new rural areas and 137/196 communes meeting new rural standards; 19 communes are recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards; 3 communes meeting model new rural standards; the average target of the whole province is 17.2 criteria/commune. At the same time, there are 1,655 new rural residential areas; 140 model new rural residential areas...

Comrade Nguyen Nam Cuong - Deputy Chief of the Office of the National Target Program on New Rural Development in the province said: The National Target Program on New Rural Development aims to improve the material and spiritual life of the people, especially in rural areas, contributing to the gradual realization of the goal of "Rich people, strong country, democracy, equality, civilization". Localities need to continue to set general and specific goals, effectively integrate programs and projects to take advantage of resources, increase investment in infrastructure to improve labor productivity, income, material and spiritual life for the people. At the same time, continue to maintain and improve the achieved criteria, build a new rural area that is substantial, effective, comprehensive and sustainable...

The journey of building new rural areas "without rest, without stopping, without stopping" has created a vibrant competitive atmosphere, creating a new "shape", new vitality, imbued with the soul and characteristics of each region in Phu Tho homeland.
