The canals in the fields are full of water to bring to the fields to help people prepare the land for the new crop.
Mr. Dang Xuan Hung (Hoa Trung village, Ky Hoa commune) shared: " This summer-autumn crop, my family planted 10 sao of PC6 rice. Although the weather is hot, we still have to focus on preparing the land to meet the sowing schedule. The experience of summer-autumn crop production is to do it as early as possible to avoid natural disasters at the end of the crop ."
Besides the fields bustling with the sound of tilling machines, many farmers are using specialized tools to focus on repairing the banks, weeding, and bringing water into the fields.
Ms. Hoang Thi Van (Hoa Dong village, Ky Hoa commune) said: " The summer-autumn crop always requires urgent work, both preparing the land and soaking the seeds for sowing. With enough water, we urgently prepare the land to sow the seedlings early. Around June 10, I sowed the first rows of seedlings of this summer-autumn crop."
In the rice fields in wards and communes, the production atmosphere is very bustling.
This season, Mr. Le Xuan Khan's family (Hung Nhan TDP, Hung Tri Ward) planted 10 sao of BT09 rice. Mr. Khan said: " To have a successful crop, in addition to using high-quality seeds, we focus on preparing the land and planting seeds according to the correct technical process."
The reservoirs serving irrigation water in the area such as: Tri River upstream, Moc Huong, Rac River, Khe Bo reach 90% of the design capacity, so basically ensure enough irrigation water for the summer-autumn crop.
This summer-autumn crop, Ky Anh town produced over 297 hectares of short-term rice varieties (under 110 days) with stable quality and high resistance to pests and diseases such as: Khang Dan DB, Khang Dan 18, PC6, VTNA2, Xuan Mai 12, HT1, HN6...
Up to now, the land preparation work of Ky Anh town people has reached more than 70%.
It is known that, in addition to mobilizing machinery for production, Ky Anh Town has assigned specific targets to each locality to conduct dredging of canals for irrigation, repair of banks, fields, dams, pumping stations, and develop plans to ensure water sources for irrigation in areas without water supply, contributing to ensuring a successful summer-autumn crop.
Along with focusing on directing the promotion of mechanization to urgently carry out land preparation and water regulation for early planting, we also arrange suitable varieties according to the variety structure in the summer-autumn production project of Ky Anh town in 2023. Currently, the town is focusing on directing sectors and localities to closely follow production activities, urging farmers to urgently deploy the stages to complete them on time according to the crop schedule.
