- According to the Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, there are 3 methods of admission to grade 10 high school: selection, combined selection exam and selection exam. In the 2025-2026 school year, public high schools will use the selection method based on the academic and training results of students in the junior high school years to convert the selection score. The number of 9th grade students in the 2024-2025 school year is 10,412 students (3,431 students less than the previous school year).

In the 2025-2026 school year, the enrollment target for grade 10 of public high schools approved by the Provincial People's Committee is 10,025 students, an enrollment rate of over 96%. This is the first batch of students studying the 2018 General Education Program from grades 6 to 9. Student evaluation shows that their learning quality is relatively stable, so choosing the admission method based on selection is appropriate.

- The Department of Education and Training guides schools on the admission method by calculating the converted score based on the training and learning results of each school year of secondary school students. Accordingly, the results of good training and good learning, the converted score is 10. The results of good training, fair learning or good training, good learning, the converted score is 9. The results of fair training and fair learning, the converted score is 8... Thus, the admission score is equal to the converted score based on the training and learning results of 4 years of grades 6, 7, 8, and 9 for schools to consider.

Based on the assigned quota, the number of students applying and the student admission scores of each school, the Department of Education and Training announces the admission scores for the first and second wishes of each school. The school's admission council conducts admission from high to low according to the assigned quota and prepares a list of admitted students for approval by the Department of Education and Training. In case all students with the same admission scores are not admitted, students will be selected in order of priority including: those with a higher average score of subjects assessed by the entire grade 9 school year score; those with a higher average score of subjects assessed by the entire grade 8, grade 7, or grade 6 school year score, etc.

However, in previous school years, many candidates, although passing the entrance exams to Nguyen Trai High School, Nguyen Truong To High School, Nguyen Hue High School (Tuy Hoa City)..., still withdrew their applications to study at Duy Tan High School, which is normal.

It is forecasted that in the 2026-2027 school year, vocational schools and private schools will flourish again. In the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province will have nearly 15,000 8th graders, over 17,000 7th graders... This is an abundant number of students for the Department of Education and Training to continue to stream students into more suitable public high schools, private high schools and vocational schools.
