Ninh Son: Determined to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

Identifying the construction and repair of houses for poor households as one of the top tasks in poverty reduction, in recent times, the Party Committee, People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Son district have focused maximum resources in society to help households in difficult circumstances ensure housing conditions. Actively propagating and mobilizing all classes of people, especially businesses and religious organizations, in the area to promote the spirit of solidarity and support the poor through funds. Thereby contributing significantly to the results of the poverty reduction and poverty reduction programs in the district.

Comrade Truong Thanh Quyen, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Son district, said: Ninh Son is a locality with 8 religions recognized by the State operating with tens of thousands of followers and more than 100 dignitaries and officials. In recent years, the local Party Committee, government and the Front have done a good job of building a skillful mass mobilization model, mobilizing religious organizations to join hands to build solidarity houses for families with housing difficulties. Through the appeal of the Front at all levels, religious organizations, dignitaries, followers and Buddhists in the locality have unanimously contributed and joined hands to support the construction of 7 solidarity houses for the poor.

Leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Son province and district handed over solidarity houses to poor households in Tan Son town.

As a particularly disadvantaged household in Hoa Son commune, Ms. Vari Nhong Thi No in Tan Hiep village said: The family has no land for production, so the couple works on rented farms, doing whatever they are hired to do, so they only have enough to eat, the house has been degraded for several years but there is no money to repair it. Thanks to the support of the Central Ethnic Buddhist Youth Division and benefactors with nearly 100 million VND, my family has a new, spacious house. Now, the family is assured to stabilize their lives and strive to escape poverty.

With the drastic participation of local Party committees and authorities; the support, contributions and sponsorship of businesses, religious organizations and people, in 2024, Ninh Son district built and handed over 95 solidarity houses, with a total cost of over 9.5 billion VND.

Caring for the lives of people with housing difficulties has always been of special concern to the district. However, due to the limited local resources, there are still many poor households without housing. Through screening, evaluation, and public posting in communes, up to now, the total number of households eligible for housing support is 251. Based on the number of households in need of housing support, the District People's Committee promptly issued a plan to implement the XNT and NDN program in the district in 2025 with the number of houses needing support for new construction being 171 and 80 houses needing repair under 3 programs. Of which, 22 houses are for people with meritorious services to the revolution; 43 houses under the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas; 186 houses under the XNT and NDN program.

As one of the households eligible for support to build new houses and repair houses in the Launching Ceremony of the emulation movement "Joining hands to build new houses and repair houses" held in February 2025, Mr. Ta Yen Chu Cong, Ha Dai village, Ma Noi commune, was moved: When we heard the news, all family members were excited and happy. My family is a policy household with difficult economic circumstances. For many years, I have always cherished the dream of a solid, sturdy home so that I no longer have to worry about the rain and wind. Now, that dream has come true.

Comrade Hoang Le Ngoc Anh, Vice Chairman of Ninh Son District People's Committee, said: In order for the emulation movement "Joining hands to build a clean and modern society" in the district to spread widely and achieve practical results, the locality is focusing on mobilizing resources from the State, enterprises and the entire population to successfully implement the set goals. Effectively integrating resources, especially resources to implement 3 national target programs to implement housing support projects for poor and near-poor households; strictly ensuring standards, procedures, regulations and compliance with the law in the process of providing housing support to the right people, with quality. The Fatherland Front and organizations, unions, and media agencies are stepping up propaganda work, aiming to create consensus for everyone to support, share, and share responsibility in caring for the material and spiritual lives of the people, especially the poor, the disadvantaged, and people in difficult circumstances; promote the role of social supervision and criticism on social security policies, social welfare, and social security. Especially call on individuals, groups, and people of all walks of life in the district to join hands to contribute and respond to the emulation movement with the motto "Whoever has something to contribute, whoever has merit contributes merit, whoever has property contributes property, whoever has little contributes little, whoever has much contributes much".

Each house built and completed means that a poor household or a household with housing difficulties has a stable place to live, does not have to worry about the burden of housing, can work and produce with peace of mind, and escape poverty. In addition, focusing on XNT and NDN also contributes to maintaining and improving housing criteria in the district's new rural construction criteria, arousing love, solidarity, attachment, and mutual assistance among people in society.
