Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Lac Tan 2 village, Phuoc Diem commune (Thuan Nam) unfortunately suffered from necrosis of the nose and mouth due to a serious infection, leaving her bedridden; not only that, she also suffered from type 2 diabetes, which further weakened her health. Her family, already poor, was now in a deadlock when they did not have stable housing and did not have enough conditions to make a citizen identification card to participate in health insurance. All treatment costs depended on the meager salary of her hired son. Through the connection of the Social Work Department of the Provincial General Hospital, benefactors supported her with more than 58 million VND to help her cover the treatment costs. Thanks to that, her health stabilized and she was discharged from the hospital in early March 2025. Not only Ms. Huong, hundreds of other patients have also received help from the Social Work Department. From 2024 to now, the department has received and supported hospital fees, treatment costs, living expenses, and hospital transfers for patients in difficult circumstances with a total amount of over 4.1 billion VND.
