Hong Thao took the high school graduation exam just for the purpose of graduation, high or low score is not too important. Thanks to that, she felt less pressure.
However, I did not pass the early admission exam for my favorite major, History Pedagogy, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. Therefore, I was determined to take the high school graduation exam and achieved 28 points in block C00 (Literature 8.5 points; History 9.75 points and Geography 9.75 points).
With this score, Hong Thao expects to be able to pass her first choice if this year's benchmark score remains stable or increases slightly.
"Last year, my first choice got 26.85 points from block C00. But I'm worried that the standard score will increase because the average score for block C00 this year is slightly higher than last year," she said.
The female student added that with that score, she is also interested in Law at some schools and she feels quite comfortable because she has many choices.
Sharing the same sentiment, Tran Gia Khanh - a 12th grade student at Thang Long High School for the Gifted (Lam Dong) - shared that he had passed many schools through early admission such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics; University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Economics and Law of Ho Chi Minh City National University... in which his first choice was Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.
"I don't have much pressure when taking the high school graduation exam in 2024. I only set a goal of getting 10 points in History because this is the subject I am most passionate about and I did it" - the male student said.
In the 2024 high school graduation exam, Dinh Thi Bich Ngoc, a 12th grade student at Luong Van Tuy High School for the Gifted (Ninh Binh), with a total score of 57.85 points in 6 subjects and 29.75 points in block C00, also passed the early admission exam to her dream major, English Pedagogy, at the University of Foreign Languages - Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Bich Ngoc won first prize in the provincial English competition and had an IELTS certificate of 8.5 in grade 11.
She shared that although she had passed the university entrance exam, when she took the high school graduation exam, she wanted to show her best ability. The score she got was beyond her expectations and she was extremely surprised.
This year, many schools have announced the benchmark scores according to early admission methods. Candidates only need to ensure the high school graduation requirements, and register their admission wishes on the general admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training between July 18 and 5:00 p.m. on July 30. Candidates can register and adjust their university admission wishes an unlimited number of times.
From July 31 to 5:00 p.m. August 6, candidates pay university admission fees online.
