ThmeyThmey online newspaper reported on September 16 that Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet is expected to deliver his first speech at the High-Level Debate at the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) taking place next week.

The Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said in a statement that Prime Minister Hun Manet's speech at the UN General Assembly will focus on several key topics, including the global context, Cambodia's socio-economic development, and Phnom Penh's commitment to the action agenda for sustainable development goals.

The high-level debate at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, taking place from September 19, has the theme “Rebuilding trust, rekindling global solidarity: Accelerating action on the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals towards peace, prosperity, progress and sustainability for all”. Many world leaders will attend this session.

During his time in New York, Prime Minister Hun Manet is also expected to have bilateral meetings with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and other foreign leaders.
