Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba promotes bilateral educational cooperation

At the meeting, Cuban Deputy Minister of Higher Education Reynaldo Velasquez Zaldivar introduced the functions and tasks of the ministry, affirming its key role in training high-quality human resources and policy consultation, meeting the requirements of Cuba's socio-economic development.

He also expressed his wish to strengthen comprehensive educational cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Le Quang Long highly appreciated the cooperation achievements between the two sides in recent times and proposed three focuses to promote the relationship, including scientific and technological cooperation to implement joint research projects, creating conditions for expert exchanges; exchanging lecturers and students to build new joint training programs; cultural exchange and language training to promote Vietnamese language training and research on Vietnamese studies for Cuban students.

In particular, the two sides pledged to promote the implementation of the 2024-2029 Memorandum of Understanding between Hanoi National University and Havana University, and agreed to recommend to agencies, ministries, branches, and educational organizations of the two countries to send delegations to attend prestigious international scientific conferences in 2025-2026 in both Cuba and Vietnam.

This is an important step forward, contributing to strengthening the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in the Year of Friendship celebrating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations.
