Canal 8 Nam, Hoa Tan Hamlet, Hoa Tu 1 Commune has just been dredged, bringing great joy to local farmers. This canal is narrow and silted, making it difficult to get water for agricultural production. Now, with the clear canal, Ms. Dang Thi Trieu, Hoa Tan Hamlet, Hoa Tu 1 Commune has high expectations: "People here are very happy to build this canal, the water source is cleared, when harvesting shrimp, it is easy to transport and sell for a good price."

Up to now, Hoa Tu 1 commune has completed 3 irrigation works, with a volume of more than 17,000 cubic meters, exceeding the district's assigned target by 6.2%, contributing to improving the efficiency of agricultural production and affirming the locality's continuous efforts in improving irrigation infrastructure, serving the lives and livelihoods of the people. Mr. Dang Minh Thuong - Vice Chairman of Hoa Tu 1 Commune People's Committee said: "Every year, the Commune People's Committee surveys all canals in the area to have a plan to dredge and lead water to serve production and travel of the people".

Dai Tam Commune has also completed 5 canals with a length of 4,100 meters and a volume of 17,100 cubic meters, exceeding the plan by 6.9%. These projects have made an important contribution to irrigation, rice production, specialized crop cultivation, and improving rural traffic infrastructure. Mr. Truong Tan Lam - Vice Chairman of Dai Tam Commune People's Committee said: "In recent years, the locality has successfully completed the internal irrigation targets, in addition, people have contributed to dredging, serving the production season. These projects promote the effectiveness of irrigation for rice, crops as well as convenient transportation of agricultural products".

Most of the irrigation works in My Xuyen district are contributed by the people voluntarily. With the determination of the local government and the consensus of the people, My Xuyen district strives to complete 200,000 cubic meters in March this year. This is an important premise to help people have enough water for production, contributing to improving the efficiency of agricultural economy and building increasingly developed rural areas.
