The Run To Live 2024 event was organized by Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City on March 10, 2024. At this race, Hoang Nguyen Thanh not only competed but also played the role of a professional "ambassador", inspiring the running community in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the whole country in general. The athlete who won the gold medal at the 31st SEA Games (full marathon 42 km) said that he was very eager to conquer the half marathon distance (21 km).
According to Hoang Nguyen Thanh, running competitions are now being held more and more, attracting a large number of participants, regardless of age, gender, and even professional or amateur level. The movement of training and competing in distances from 5 km, 10 km to half marathon (21 km), full marathon (42 km) and even longer always has a special attraction for participants.
Hoang Nguyen Thanh won a historic gold medal for Vietnamese athletics in the marathon at the 31st SEA Games (Hanoi).
Practicing running is also a way to improve health, motivate participants to conquer their own limits, and at the same time create connections between people who share the same passion, all aiming for a healthier life. Nguyen Thanh shared: "Running gives me a career, helps me earn an income to support my parents. I have saved some money to renovate the old house in the countryside, and support my younger brother's education. This is what makes me happiest."
As one of the first athletes to experience the race track in Thu Duc City, Nguyen Thanh admitted that compared to major tournaments such as the national championship, SEA Games or Asian championship... the level of competition of the Run To Live 2024 race is not too fierce. However, the appeal is always present, because that is the nature of an athletics event, regardless of professional or amateur level.

Notably, the organizers of the Run To Live 2024 race will award a prize of 200 million VND (not including the prize money for the champion athlete) to the two athletes who conquer the record in the 21 km distance for men and women, which is currently held by national athletes Do Quoc Luat and Nguyen Thi Oanh. This will create great motivation for runners to participate in the competition.
