The tourism industry of Binh Dinh province is setting big ambitions for 2024, striving to welcome 5.5 million visitors to the province, with revenue reaching VND18,500 billion. To attract a large number of domestic and foreign tourists, the tourism industry of Binh Dinh province has approved a project to organize many activities spanning a variety of fields.
In addition to organizing special festivals to welcome the tourist season, Binh Dinh also aims for international events, notably the Grand Prix of Binh Dinh 2024 international motorboat racing tournament taking place from March 23 to February 31.
The Grand Prix of Binh Dinh 2024 will include the ABP Aquabike World Championship held from March 22 to March 24, and the UIM F1H2O Formula 1 Powerboat World Championship from March 29 to March 31, held for the first time in Quy Nhon City. The tournament will gather more than 70 athletes, who are the world's top racers.

The UIM F1 H2O Powerboat Championship is one of the fastest and most adventurous races in the world, with dramatic maneuvers such as cornering at 145 km/h and reaching speeds of up to 226 km/h on the straight.
In the UIM F1H2O Formula 1 powerboat racing event, Binh Dinh officially has a racing team named Binh Dinh Vietnam. This racing team will start competing in the first round in Indonesia at the end of February. The Binh Dinh Vietnam team includes the reigning UIM F1H2O world champion Jonas Andersson, along with Estonian rookie Stefan Arand.
"I had a memorable experience at the tournaments where I won the championship. I will try harder to achieve good results in the upcoming challenges, especially in the tournament held in Binh Dinh, Vietnam this year," racer Jonas Andersson affirmed.
Tickets to watch the ABP Aquabike and UIM F1H2O Formula 1 boat events range from VND800,000 to VND2.8 million for children, and VND1 million to VND2.8 million for adults.

Mr. Tran Viet Anh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Binh Dinh F1 Joint Stock Company, the co-organizer of the Grand Prix of Binh Dinh 2024 tournament, shared: "When we brought the jet ski and motor boat racing events to Vietnam, we initially only did a simple event.
However, with the idea of combining sports with tourism, culture, local economy, promoting Vietnam's sports economy with the potential of 320 million USD, we want to cooperate with Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, becoming a pioneer to bring attractive sports to the audience, so that Vietnamese fans can have more contact with water sports, especially when Vietnam has beautiful coastline and diverse river systems.
Hopefully, through the form of promoting and attracting international sporting events to Vietnam, we can enhance the image of the Vietnamese people and country to friends around the world."
Director of Binh Dinh Department of Tourism Tran Van Thanh shared: "Binh Dinh is a province in the South Central Coast of Vietnam, with a favorable location as it is located in the center of the North-South axis on both road, rail and air routes. Binh Dinh has a beautiful coastline, many tourist attractions, a rich historical relic system, which is a premise for tourism development.
Binh Dinh has a full range of culture, history, marine ecosystems, friendly and chivalrous people like a miniature Vietnam. This place has affirmed its name on the international tourism map, voted by the press and media as the top destination in Southeast Asia.
Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province is also one of three Vietnamese cities awarded the Clean Tourism City award at the Southeast Asia Forum. In 2023, Binh Dinh tourism has many programs to attract domestic and foreign tourists, welcoming over 5 million visitors, with revenue of 17,000 billion VND".
Leaders of Binh Dinh Department of Tourism expect international tournaments such as Grand Prix of Binh Dinh and a series of sports and tourism events to enhance the province's position and attract more domestic and international tourists.
