"I will have to monitor Quang Hai's physical condition because the schedule at the end of May is very tight. If Hai is not okay, I will ask the club to intervene and not let Hai go to Malaysia," coach Alexandre Polking answered Tri Thuc - Znews 's question on the evening of April 18.

Quang Hai is one of three Vietnamese players, along with Do Duy Manh and Nguyen Hoang Duc, called up by the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) to the ASEAN All Stars team to play a friendly match against Manchester United on May 28 in Malaysia.

However, in the match between Cong An Ha Noi Club and Ho Chi Minh City in round 19 at Hang Day Stadium, Coach Polking revealed that Quang Hai was injured. For the first time after 18 consecutive starting matches and playing almost the entire official playing time in each match in the V.League this season, Hai had a problem and had to come on as a substitute.

"I really didn't want Quang Hai to play today because of his physical condition. Everyone knows how important Hai is to the club. Quang Hai told me that he could try to play the last 25 minutes of the match and in difficult circumstances, I had to believe in him," said Mr. Polking.

At the end of May, the ASEAN All Stars team under the leadership of coach Kim Sang-sik will gather for a friendly match with MU. At the same time, CAHN Club will have an important match against Hanoi on May 25 in round 24 of V.League, before making up for round 20 against relegation-threatened team Binh Dinh on June 3. It will be difficult for Mr. Polking and CAHN Club to release Quang Hai.

After the ASEAN All Stars match against MU, the Vietnamese team will play an important away match against Malaysia in the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup, taking place on June 10.
