A villager in Changtan, Hubei, China, gets his water from a nearby lake. But suddenly, an accident occurred and the entire village ran out of water. Initially, the village secretary thought there was a problem with the water supply system, but after an investigation, it turned out that was not the cause.

The village water system manager thought for a long time, he thought that if the system was still normal, the reason might come from the lake. He, the village secretary and a few others went to the site to check.

Finally, they discovered that the lake's water supply was blocked by something. It seemed to be very large and heavy, making it difficult to move. So they sent a large excavator to the scene.

After half a day of digging, they found a giant log measuring 24 meters long and weighing 7 tons. It was this log that was blocking the water from the source. Strangely, the surface of this log was pitch black, looking very scary at first glance. The villagers believed that this log should have been swept away because the lake water had risen due to the torrential rains a few weeks ago.

Furthermore, the log, despite being soaked in water for so long, did not appear to be rotten. The village secretary called a truck to transport the log to the village lumberyard. They decided to cut it open to examine the inside of the log.

Unexpectedly, after being split in half, the log gave off a strong fragrance. The owner of the wood workshop saw this and shouted: "This is the precious metal of Nam Moc, more precious than gold, we are going to be rich."

Jin to nam moc is a special precious wood with wood grain like golden silk threads. This type of tree is often grown in Sichuan and some other areas south of the Yangtze River. Jin to nam moc has a fragrant smell, straight and tight grain, is difficult to deform and crack, is a precious material for construction and high-end furniture.

Historically, it was used to build royal palaces, temples and high-end furniture. Even in ancient feudal times, only the royal family and kings were allowed to use this type of wood. Therefore, it is also known as "emperor's wood".

It is different from the common types of wood in that the wood grain under the sunlight appears like golden silk threads, sparkling and has an elegant scent. Wood silk is divided into many grades, usually based on the age of the tree, the older the age, the more valuable the wood.

The highest grade is the thousand-year-old Yin-Yang male wood. This type is a natural mutation that occurred 2,000 to tens of thousands of years ago, due to earthquakes, floods, and torrents that swept away rocks and soil and buried living things or plants.

The piece of wood that the villagers dug up was actually a kind of deep-rooted ebony. Therefore, its value is difficult to measure. This piece of wood is at least 3,000 to 10,000 years old, and its estimated value is not less than 100 million yuan (over 300 billion VND), or even priceless.

The value of this type of wood is extremely high because it is extremely rare due to the long time it takes to form wood and it is located in terrain that is very difficult to exploit. Moreover, finding this type of wood also depends on luck.
