The village chief "lights up" the highland village

The National Typical Exchange Program in Studying and Following Ho Chi Minh's Thought, Morality and Style 2024, titled "Ho Chi Minh - Journey of Aspiration 2024: Innovation and Development", co-organized by the Central Propaganda Department and Vietnam Television, took place in Hanoi on the evening of November 15.

Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Party Committee, presented the symbol to Ms. Ha Thi Tu, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Cao Hoong Village, Lung Cao Commune, Ba Thuoc District, Thanh Hoa Province.

The National Typical Exchange Program in Studying and Following Ho Chi Minh's Thought, Morality and Lifestyle is held annually to honor and connect typical collectives and individuals in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and lifestyle nationwide.

In 2024, the program will continue to honor typical examples and excellent models across the three regions, including: Creativity and effectiveness of the model; difficulties of the model; solutions to overcome them... Thereby, localities, agencies and units will exchange experiences; build and replicate good models, effective methods and spread the aspiration to learn and follow Uncle Ho from awareness to action.

The program honored 7 models and 18 typical individuals nationwide, of which Thanh Hoa province has a typical example: Ms. Ha Thi Tu, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Cao Hoong Village, Lung Cao Commune, Ba Thuoc District.

Through a project of the French NGO (GRET), Cao Hoong village is one of the villages in Thanh Hoa province that has been sponsored with solar energy equipment for lighting. Ms. Tu is one of four ethnic minority women from disadvantaged villages in the province selected to attend a solar energy course from March to September 2015 at the Barefoot School in Tilonia, India.

With the determination to bring light to the village, overcoming the language barrier, after 6 months of studying, she was able to connect the electrical circuits of portable lamps, operate the charging controller and generator, and assemble complete components.

When the solar lights were delivered, she installed them herself for the households in Cao Hoong village and both Kit and Pon villages. Whenever someone’s lights broke, she called Ms. Tu to fix them, bringing joy and light to the people in the village. Her work over the years has helped the poor village rise up and the people have also eased some of their difficulties.

25 individuals, collectives, and typical examples were honored as typical examples nationwide in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style in 2024.

Speaking at the program, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the practical and useful actions, the movement of studying and following Uncle Ho with the specific and very noble actions of individuals, typical advanced examples. These are fragrant flowers in the forest of thousands of good deeds, are examples that continue the example of studying and following Uncle Ho, contributing to continuing the glorious history in the Ho Chi Minh era.

The General Secretary emphasized: “Forever grateful for the great contributions of the great President Ho Chi Minh, the genius leader of the Party and our nation, the national liberation hero, the exemplary international communist soldier, the outstanding cultural celebrity, the embodiment of the quintessence of Vietnamese intelligence and spirit, we see more clearly the urgent need to constantly study and follow Uncle Ho at a new height, which is having a strong momentum to bring the country firmly into a new era, an era of development, an era of prosperity, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers as President Ho Chi Minh wished and the aspiration of the entire nation”.

General Secretary To Lam suggested that in the coming time, Party committees and authorities at all levels, first of all the leaders, need to promote the achieved results, have plans, specific solutions, and set an example in making studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and lifestyle a personal cultural need of each cadre, Party member, and people of all walks of life.
