Mr. Lee Won-jae at the 2002 World Cup
World Cup hero joins Vietnam national team
Mr. Lee Won-jae, born in 1973, is a legend of Korean football, having participated in the World Cup 4 times (1994, 2002, 2006 and 2010) in 18 years of dedication to the Korean team. He was the main goalkeeper at the 2002 World Cup and will most likely be a member of the Vietnamese team at the 2024 AFF Cup.
With such a long record, the former goalkeeper with 132 appearances for the Korean national team is expected to be a quality addition to the Vietnamese national team at the upcoming AFF Cup 2024.
In fact, VFF is negotiating with Mr. Lee's representative company about hiring him to train Nguyen Filip and Dang Van Lam to help these talented goalkeepers have the best form to aim for at least reaching the final.

Mr. Kim is determined to conquer the AFF Cup 2024
Korean media reported that coach Kim Sang-sik himself has invited his senior from the Korean team to Vietnam to support him. If the negotiations are completed, Mr. Lee Won-jae will officially start working when the Vietnamese team comes to Korea for training at the end of November.
It should also be added that coach Kim Sang-sik (born in 1976, 3 years younger than Mr. Lee) is also one of the famous names in Korean football, with 12 years of dedication to the kimchi team and 56 appearances for the Korean national team.
It is expected that the Vietnamese team will not gather at the FIFA Days in November, to create conditions for the V-League 2024 - 2025 to take place continuously, before gathering again after round 9 on November 21 and flying to Korea for training, before entering the opening match of the AFF Cup 2024 in Laos on December 9.
