Not only a consumer market, Vietnam is becoming an attractive destination for many major automobile brands in the world. Car companies not only bring products to distribute but also seek long-term investment opportunities. A typical example is the appearance of Omoda & Jaecoo, a new brand entering the market at the end of 2024.

So what is special about Omoda & Jaecoo to attract Vietnamese consumers? What strategies will the company apply to compete in a vibrant market? Let's learn more about this brand in an interview with Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang - Deputy General Director of Omoda & Jaecoo in Vietnam.

Providing high quality products, diverse segments

According to Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Deputy General Director of Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam, Omoda & Jaecoo is a relatively new brand in Vietnam, officially entering the market at the end of 2024.

First of all, to sell a product, the most important thing is to have a quality product. Currently, Omoda & Jaecoo have introduced the Omoda C5 model, and recently the Jaecoo J7 and the Jaecoo J7 PHEV version. In the future, the company will continue to launch new models such as the Jaecoo J6, a pure electric model, and by the end of 2025, there will be a gasoline model and a PHEV (plug-in hybrid) model.

The product roadmap is carefully planned, with a strategy of launching a new model every 3 months. This gives the market enough time to accept the current products, while providing constant freshness.

In addition, Omoda & Jaecoo also pay close attention to listening to customer feedback. If the product launch receives positive feedback, the company will continue to deploy the next versions to suit user needs. On the contrary, if there are points that need to be adjusted, Omoda & Jaecoo will quickly optimize to bring a better experience.

Compared to other brands, Omoda & Jaecoo not only sell imported cars, but also aim to manufacture cars in Vietnam to bring long-term value to customers. This is a testament to the company's commitment to sustainable investment in this market.

In addition, Omoda & Jaecoo are Chery’s global brands, meaning that their products are not only designed for the Chinese market but also designed to meet international standards. Omoda & Jaecoo understands that not every product that is successful in China will be suitable for Vietnam. Therefore, the company chooses models with safety standards and designs suitable for the Vietnamese market.

For example, Omoda C5 has achieved 5-star safety certification from Euro NCAP and ASEAN NCAP, a high safety standard that no other car model in the segment in Vietnam has achieved.

One of the biggest concerns for customers when buying a car from a new brand is after-sales service. Omoda & Jaecoo has built a superior customer service strategy, including: 10-year or 1 million km warranty for pioneer customers. 10-year or 1 million km engine warranty.

Omoda & Jaecoo plans to have 39 dealers & service centers nationwide to ensure customers can easily maintain and repair their vehicles.

Building a premium brand at an affordable price

Omoda & Jaecoo's core philosophy is "customer first". Not only providing quality products, the company also focuses on customer care service to ensure long-term satisfaction.

In summary, Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam's strategy focuses on 5 main factors: Diverse, high-quality products, launched continuously according to a clear roadmap. Long-term investment in the Vietnamese market, aiming for domestic production. Outstanding after-sales service, long-term warranty, extensive distribution network. Building a strong brand, combining high-end elements and practical values. Taking customers as the center, listening and adjusting according to market needs.

Unlike previous Chinese car brands entering Vietnam through commercial importers, Omoda & Jaecoo are directly invested by Chery Group, with the cooperation of Geely and Geleximco joint venture. This helps to strictly control product quality, after-sales service and brand orientation.

Building a factory in Vietnam not only helps the company reduce import costs, but also gives customers confidence that this is not a "quick and dirty" brand. This can also help reduce vehicle prices and optimize after-sales service in the future.

Vietnamese people are still wary of Chinese cars because of the brands that failed in the past, mainly because they were imported from commercial units that did not guarantee quality. However, China is now the world leader in electric vehicles, aerospace technology, and artificial intelligence, and this reflects the remarkable development of the Chinese automobile industry.

Omoda & Jaecoo will need time to prove the quality of their vehicles with good after-sales service, durable products, and outstanding warranty policies.
