Installing NFC chip boards (wireless connection technology) at famous historical, cultural and tourist sites in Dak Lak province is an activity within the framework of the "Love Vietnam" project implemented by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with technology partners to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and to promote historical and cultural sites across the country, contributing to promoting Vietnam's tourism development.

Along with provinces and cities across the country, on the afternoon of March 29, Nhan Dan Newspaper coordinated with technology partners and relevant agencies and localities of Dak Lak province to install NFC chip panels (wireless connection technology) at famous historical, cultural and tourist sites in Dak Lak province .

This is an activity within the framework of the Project "Love Vietnam" implemented by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with technology partners to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and to promote historical and cultural sites across the country, contributing to promoting tourism development in Vietnam.

In Dak Lak province, with the consent of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province, the project is implemented at three locations: Buon Ma Thuot Prison National Special Monument, Dak Lak Museum and Buon Don Suspension Bridge Tourism Center.

The chip-embedded panels are designed in two colors, yellow and red, inspired by the Vietnamese national flag, and can operate automatically without a power source. When arriving at the above destinations, visitors using their phones to interact with the NFC chip-embedded panels will be certified to have checked in at the location, save personal photos, and receive useful information about the location, monuments, or destinations.

Each chip-embedded board will provide stories, images, videos or 3D models of the location or monument where the chip-embedded board is located; at the same time, it provides search, navigation and information features to explore tourist destinations at the current location and neighboring areas. When visitors experience all the chip-embedded points in a locality, they will receive gifts from the program and a digital certificate upon completion of their exploration there.

According to Mr. Tran Minh Tuan, Head of the Project "Love Vietnam" , Phygital Labs Joint Stock Company, in the near future, the Project will develop new challenge games for tourists to check-in, as well as optimize features to serve tourism such as: guiding, supporting the flow of visitors to other locations when a location is too crowded; informing tourists about important events in localities... The Project will also standardize the content to translate into other languages, contributing to promoting and introducing Vietnamese tourism to the world.

Buon Ma Thuot Prison Special National Monument

Buon Ma Thuot Prison is located at 18 Tan Thuat Street - Tu An Ward - Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province. Buon Ma Thuot Prison was built in 1930 - 1931 with a total area of nearly 2 hectares, with four surrounding walls 4m high, 40cm thick, with watchtowers at all four corners and 24/7 guards. Inside there are six rows of collective prisons, rows of cells... this is the place to imprison, exile and eliminate revolutionary soldiers with an extremely harsh and brutal regime.

This place is known as “hell on earth,” where the enemy used extremely cruel and savage tortures. Here, evidence of the crimes of the colonial and imperialist regimes against revolutionary soldiers remains. But it is also here that the great contributions of revolutionary soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the nation, for the happiness and freedom of the people are recorded.

Buon Ma Thuot Prison was organized quite large and solidly, surrounded by high walls, inside there were six prisons to lock up each type of prisoner, a punishment house, a long row of cells, a workshop, a warehouse, a kitchen area...

The solitary confinement area is where loyal soldiers, comrades who led the struggles, protests, and prison breaks, such as Nguyen Chi Thanh, Tran Huu Duc, Doan Khue, Vo Chi Cong, Nguyen Duy Trinh, To Huu, Hoang Anh, Nguyen Tao, Nguyen The Lam, Tran Sam, etc., were held in solitary confinement.

Buon Ma Thuot Prison was also the place where the first Party cell in Dak Lak was established. At the end of 1940, in response to the situation, a number of revolutionary soldiers in secret organizations in the prison proactively established a Communist Party of Vietnam cell. The cell had 10 comrades when it was first established.

Through the ups and downs of history, this place has forever engraved the deep mark of Vietnamese revolutionary heroism. Buon Ma Thuot Prison is also where the first Party cell of Dak Lak province was established.

Buon Ma Thuot Prison has now become a historical site, a place that bears the mark of Vietnamese revolutionary heroism, and at the same time a red address for educating the tradition of patriotism and revolution. With the great historical values and significance of Buon Ma Thuot Prison, on July 10, 1980, Buon Ma Thuot Prison was specially ranked as a national historical and cultural relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism). On December 24, 2018, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1820/QD-TTg on ranking Buon Ma Thuot Prison as a special national historical relic.

Dak Lak Museum

Dak Lak Provincial Museum is located at 12 Le Duan, Buon Ma Thuot City, started construction in 2008, with a total usable area of 9,200m2 with a length of 130m, a width of 65m, including exhibition areas, storage areas and working areas. This place is always an attractive destination attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists because of its unique architecture, modern style combined with the traditional culture of the Central Highlands.

On February 27, 2008, Dak Lak Museum was started to be built, designed by HAAI Architecture Company. This is a unique architectural project with a modern style combined with the traditions of the ethnic groups in the Central Highlands. The project has a total construction area of over 9,000m2.

On November 21, 2011, on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the establishment of Dak Lak province, Dak Lak Museum was inaugurated and put into use, marking a new development step of Dak Lak Museum and also an important milestone in the process of construction and development of Dak Lak in particular and the museum industry in the Central Highlands region in general.

In January 2014, Dak Lak Museum officially joined ICOM, which is an important foundation for the Museum to have strategic development directions, creating breakthroughs in its activities. On August 19, 2014, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 2641/QD-BVHTTDL on ranking Dak Lak Museum as Grade I. Currently, Dak Lak Museum is gradually affirming its position to reach a new height.

It can be said that Dak Lak Museum is a center for preserving and displaying the history and culture of the ethnic groups in Dak Lak province. The museum consists of three exhibition spaces: Ethnic Culture, History and Biodiversity; here there are many artifacts showing the cultural values of more than 49 ethnic groups living in Dak Lak, in which the space of gong culture and issues related to the cultural identity of the local ethnic groups are clearly shown.

Dak Lak Museum is one of the pioneering museums implementing advanced display methods according to the concept of modern museology; it is the first museum in Vietnam to use four languages in its displays: along with Vietnamese, French, English, there is also Ede - the language of the largest local population in the province.

Mr. Nguyen Phuc Bao, a tourist from Dong Nai province, when visiting Dak Lak Museum, experienced scanning the NFC chip board of the "Love Vietnam" project, saying: I have visited many tourist areas and museums in provinces across the country, but this is the first time I have experienced this technology. It is very interesting, we only need to use our phones to interact with the NFC chip board that has just been certified to check in at the location, save personal images, receive useful information about the location, relics or destinations on our journey.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung, a resident of Buon Ma Thuot city, excitedly shared when experiencing scanning the NFC chip board of the "Love Vietnam" Project: When using my phone to scan the NFC chip board of the "Love Vietnam" Project, I can experience stories, images, videos or 3D models of the locations and relics where the chip board is located; at the same time, it provides the ability to look up, navigate, and find information to explore tourist destinations at the current location and neighboring areas. This is a new and extremely useful technology. I hope that in the near future, Nhan Dan Newspaper will coordinate with partners to install more of these NFC chip boards at historical and cultural relic sites as well as tourist destinations in the area, in order to promote the image of the land, history and cultural traditions of ethnic groups in the province to domestic and foreign tourists, thereby attracting more and more tourists to the province.

According to a representative of Nhan Dan Newspaper, the project aims to promote historical and cultural sites and destinations across the country, from Ha Giang to Ca Mau; create unique discovery experiences for tourists, support and promote tourism in localities as well as the whole country.

For Dak Lak province, the use of this NFC chip board will be one of the tools contributing to the province's implementation of the digital transformation strategy, combining official information and data with technology and creative ideas to vividly and effectively promote important cultural and historical events and local tourism products.
