The 11th Asian Golf Tourism Convention - AGTC 2025 affirms the attraction of Da Nang

Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism Tan Van Vuong said that with a system of 8 international standard golf courses designed by golf legends, the Central region of Vietnam, especially Da Nang city, has oriented to develop golf tourism as a strategic segment to attract high-end customers with high spending ability.

In recent times, Da Nang has promoted golf destinations in many international markets, contributing to increasing the number of tourists coming to the city. According to statistics from the Central Golf Course Alliance, in 2024, the total number of golf rounds of the Central courses increased by 13.8% compared to 2023 and is expected to reach 410,000 golf rounds in 2025, continuing to increase by more than 10% compared to 2024.

According to Mr. Vuong, Da Nang hosting the Asian Golf Tourism Congress for the second time is not only an honor, but also a valuable opportunity to introduce to international friends a dynamic and modern coastal city; promote the image of golf tourism with a system of 5-star hotels and resorts; beautiful natural landscapes and high-class tourism services of the city.

“This event will help Da Nang affirm its position on the regional and international golf tourism map; opening up many opportunities for cooperation and investment to develop golf tourism and luxury tourism,” Mr. Vuong expressed.

Speaking at the press conference, World Golf Tourism Association President Peter Walton said that AGTC 2025 affirmed the attractiveness of the host city - Da Nang when attracting more than 450 delegates, surpassing the number of 340 delegates of AGTC 2024 in Abu Dhabi. Of the 450 delegates from 33 countries and territories, there were 162 international buyers, of which 54% came from Asia, 26% from Europe, 11% from Australia and New Zealand, and 7% from North America.

"We knew that Da Nang would be an attractive destination for the 11th AGTC Conference, but we did not expect to receive such great attention. Up to now, Da Nang is the only locality chosen to host the Asian Golf Tourism Congress twice. AGTC 2025 will also create great values ​​for the destination of Da Nang during this event week," said the Chairman of the Golf Tourism Association.

According to Mr. Peter Walton, at AGTC 2025, 168 travel companies specializing in golf tourism will have the opportunity to experience the resorts and golf courses here; more than 4,500 meetings have been scheduled between international travel companies and golf tourism service providers. These meetings will generate increased revenue for golf destinations in Asia, Vietnam and especially Da Nang.

In addition, inviting leading travel companies from 33 countries and territories to participate can create opportunities to expand the market, helping Da Nang's golf tourism industry no longer depend too much on one or two source markets.

The Asian Golf Tourism Congress with international scale of the golf tourism industry takes place from March 30 to April 5, 2025, with main activities such as: Survey program for golf travel agencies (March 31 to April 1, 2025); AGTC Golf Championship 2025 (April 2, 2025); Asian Golf Tourism Conference with more than 4,500 meetings between buyers and sellers (on April 3 and 4, 2025).

Within the framework of the Danang City Reception, the World Golf Tourism Association will announce the World Golf Tourism Awards, honoring outstanding golf courses and destinations voted by international golf tour operators. In particular, Danang will be awarded the title "Da Nang - Outstanding Contribution to Golf Tourism", recognizing outstanding contributions to the development of golf tourism.
