The patient was a 49-year-old man who came to the hospital with pain in the lower abdomen, difficulty urinating, and frequent blood in the urine. Through examination and ultrasound, doctors discovered that the patient had:
- Large bladder stones cause urinary tract obstruction.
- Bilateral kidney stones and left ureteral stones increase the risk of kidney failure if not treated promptly.
Doctors performed surgery to remove bladder stones from the patient. This is a complex technique that requires precision and coordination to avoid damaging surrounding structures.
The giant stone was successfully removed, measuring up to 5x4cm. After surgery, the patient was transferred to the General Surgery Department for monitoring and continued planning for bilateral kidney stone treatment for the patient.
How dangerous are urinary tract stones if left untreated?

Urinary tract stones often progress silently but can cause serious consequences if not detected and treated early. Specifically, in the above case, surgery not only helps the patient get rid of severe pain but also prevents dangerous complications such as:
- Urinary tract infection.
- Obstruction of urine flow leading to kidney failure.
- Risk of bladder rupture.
To prevent urinary tract stones, doctors recommend that people need regular check-ups to detect kidney stones and bladder stones early.
In addition, you need to drink enough water every day and maintain a healthy diet, limiting foods high in calcium or oxalate.
