On March 8, the Ca Mau Center for Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation reported that drought has caused localized water shortages in many areas, causing more than 3,000 households in the province to currently lack water for daily use. In some places, people have to use salt water for household use.

The leader of Bien Bach commune People's Committee informed that people in the commune share a water supply station in Tan Bang commune (bordering Bien Bach commune).

However, recently, severe drought and increased water demand have left most people in Thanh Tung Hamlet, Bien Bach Commune without clean water. People have to buy fresh water from boats at a price of 40,000 - 50,000 VND/cubic meter.

Although there is a water pipe to Mr. Tung's house, for the past 5 months not a drop of water has flowed through the pipe.
