On September 15, the opening session of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians took place in Hanoi , with the theme "The role of youth in promoting the implementation of sustainable development goals through digital transformation and innovation".

Attending the conference were Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission Truong Thi Mai; Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians.
On the international side, there were Mr. Duarte, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union; Mr. Martin Chungong, Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union; Mr. Dan Carden, President of the Global Forum of Young Parliamentarians.Sharing with Thanh Nien on the sidelines of the conference, Ms. Marie Alexandra Tania Diolle (MP of Mautirius) said that she was very happy to attend the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians. This is a meaningful conference, an opportunity as well as a valuable experience that will help her gain more knowledge when she returns home.

"Of the 3 topics, I was most impressed with the topic of digital transformation. There is information here that is very close to reality, and it will certainly be very useful knowledge," said Ms. Marie Alexandra Tania Diolle.
According to Ms. Marie Alexandra Tania Diolle, this is her second time coming to Vietnam, the last time she visited was in 2018.
"I am very impressed with Vietnamese culture and people. I especially miss Vietnamese cuisine. At today's opening ceremony, I really enjoyed the snacks at the party. This is something that many other countries should learn from," Ms. Marie Alexandra Tania Diolle emphasized.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bethuel Tjaveondja (Namibia MP) said that he was impressed with all three topics of the conference: digital transformation; innovation and entrepreneurship; promoting respect for cultural diversity for sustainable development.

"I believe that a developing country like Vietnam will help us a lot with knowledge to apply to our country. In addition, we will also seek opportunities from developed countries, creating relationships to develop together," said Mr. Bethuel Tjaveondja.
According to Mr. Bethuel Tjaveondja, he is very interested in the topic of promoting respect for cultural diversity for sustainable development, because in the world, countries will need to support each other, especially in the context of globalization. He hopes that countries will become more and more united.
"This world belongs to us. Therefore, we need to live, work, collaborate, and help each other to proactively move forward. Vietnam is the host, we will follow what your country has done, thereby finding experiences to bring back to develop our country," said Mr. Bethuel Tjaveondja.

Mr. Roberto Alejandro Suarez (Bolivian parliamentarian) was most impressed with the topic of digital transformation, because his country is also implementing it for young people, focusing especially on applying technology for digital transformation.
"I thank Vietnam for the invitation. Vietnam and Bolivia have something in common: tradition, and both countries have diverse cultures. Therefore, I will learn from Vietnam and other countries to discuss and develop culture together," said Roberto Alejandro Suarez.
