Russia assures UN Security Council will continue to address Nord Stream sabotage case. (Source: The Times) |
Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Vasily Nebenzya shared this on Russian News Agency TASS on November 8.
According to Vasily Nebenzya, perhaps the widespread media reports on this issue were staged to deliberately distract the attention of the global community from the investigation process.
"The more the West remains silent about the investigation into the Nord Stream sabotage, the more it reveals its intention to stall for time in order to make the international community forget about the incident. However, the Russian Federation will not let that happen," the Russian permanent representative to the UN stressed.
According to this Russian special envoy, Moscow assured that the UN Security Council will continue to address this issue, promoting an appropriate international investigation.
Also on November 8, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that so far, Western countries have not yet informed Moscow of any conclusions from the investigation.
Mr Lavrov said that the authorities in Western countries are doing everything possible "to hide all information about this issue".
