* Russia shot down Mi-8 helicopter, intercepted missile in DPR: On September 21, the statement of the country's Ministry of Defense stated: "Air defense systems near the settlement of Kleshcheyevka in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) shot down a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force."
Russian air defense systems also intercepted three High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM) anti-radar missiles along with eight missiles from High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS).
In other incidents, the Russian Armed Forces (VS RF) also shot down 15 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs); destroyed areas in Samoilovka, Lyubimovka in Russia, Gorlovka and Stepnoye in the DPR; Kuzemovka in the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), Chervonohirka, Lyubimovka and Ocheretovatoye in Zaporizhzhia and Kazachy Lagerya in Kherson.
In addition, Russian troops have improved their tactical position near the settlement of Veseloye in the DPR. “In Donetsk, units of the Southern Battle Group, in cooperation with aircraft and artillery, repelled an attack by the 110th Ukrainian mechanized brigade near the settlement of Veseloye in the DPR,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.
Using the offensive firepower, the VS RF improved its tactical position with decisive counterattacks. In total, Russia repelled four enemy attacks in the area over the past day, which took place near the settlements of Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Khimik and Vesyoloye in the DPR.
“Ukrainian losses were 305 servicemen, two armored fighting vehicles, seven vehicles and an American-made M777 artillery system,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.
* Ukraine: Russia is not capable of dealing with Western cruise missiles : On September 24, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat announced that Russian air defense is having difficulty with Western-made cruise missiles.
He stressed that Ukraine had received the long-awaited cruise missiles and “the enemy could not shoot them down despite having a strong air defense system because they did not have similar missiles.”
Russia may have shot down some, but the Western missiles penetrated defense systems in Russia and Crimea, which are heavily armed but did not respond to the attacks, Ihnat said, which is why Kiev is hoping to receive more Western missiles, especially from Germany, France and Britain.
The Ukrainian Air Force spokesman also confirmed that the US Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS), which are already ballistic missiles, will help Ukraine significantly change the situation on the front. Meanwhile, Western fighter jets, when sent to Kiev, “will be a completely different story.”
* Britain pledges to continue supporting Ukraine : On September 24, writing on X , the country's Defense Secretary Grant Shapps stated: "The UK has stood shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine and we will continue to do so." According to him, the British understand European history and understand the "consequences" of Russia's military activities in Ukraine. He stated: "That is why the UK remains steadfast and we will continue to do so."
