At the end of November 2024, Ms. Ho Thi Thu (born in 1972, Bru-Van Kieu ethnic group) traveled from Da Chat village, Truong Son commune (Quang Ninh) all the way to Dong Hoi city to attend a training course to improve the capacity of members of community communication teams (CTCs) organized by the Provincial Women's Union (VWU). Leaving at dawn to be on time for the opening of the training course, Ms. Ho Thi Thu excitedly shared that she was tired but still very eager, because the training would help her learn more about the village and pass it on to the people.
This is not the first training course she has participated in, because since Project 8 was implemented, she has attended training and refresher courses at the provincial, district and grassroots levels. In particular, in 2024, she was also honored to attend the conference summarizing the direction of Project 8 and exchanging, sharing experiences and solutions to maintain and replicate typical models of implementing Project 8 organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union in Hanoi. Those are unforgettable memories and help her draw more valuable experiences and lessons.

As the Head of Da Chat Village and Head of the TTCĐ Group of the village, Ms. Ho Thi Thu is always aware that she must constantly learn and practice to improve her capacity and contribute more to the development of the village. By participating in training courses, she not only learns more knowledge and skills, but also improves communication, creates confidence, openness and is willing to share difficulties and problems.
She said that thanks to the easy-to-understand, easy-to-remember way of communication, along with many meaningful integrated activities, she and the trainees participating in the Project 8 training accumulated experience, lessons and had the opportunity to exchange, interact and meet. She hopes that in the future, within the framework of Project 8, there will be more training and development classes for grassroots implementation teams like her, especially classes opened right at the commune and village level, with hands-on instruction, theory and practice.
Ms. Cao Thi Van, Head of Ke village (born in 1996, Lam Hoa commune, Tuyen Hoa) said that she also regularly participates in training courses related to Project 8. The training courses have helped her learn more knowledge and skills, especially on gender equality, prevention of child marriage, consanguineous marriage, domestic violence... With easy-to-understand and easy-to-remember communication methods and close exchanges and sharing from the team of reporters, Ms. Van and the trainees did not encounter many difficulties in learning, and at the same time, it was easy to communicate to the villagers. In addition, thanks to participating in the training courses, she has become more confident and bolder, instead of being shy and hesitant like before.
According to Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union Nguyen Thi Minh, by the end of 2024, during the implementation of Project 8, the unions at all levels had organized 88 training and communication courses on operating models, capacity building, gender equality, policy dialogue, guidance on the application of 4.0 technology, inspection and supervision... The training courses were organized systematically, professionally, with in-depth and specific content suitable for each subject and each level. The teaching staff are highly qualified, experienced in practice, with creative and effective communication methods, highly appreciated by many students.

For the TTCĐ teams, immediately after their establishment, the Central and Provincial Associations organized training courses to improve knowledge and skills in the implementation process for officials from the province, district and commune in charge of the project. The Provincial Women's Union regularly organized training courses to improve capacity for team members. Through this, the TTCĐ team members worked in groups, planned a communication session together, selected appropriate forms of communication, contributing to improving knowledge and skills in propaganda and mobilization.
Every year, the Women's Union at the provincial and district levels also proactively develops plans and implements capacity building training for officials in the political system, village elders, village chiefs and prestigious people in the community. In particular, focusing on capacity and skills in conducting policy dialogue, advocacy, handling situations, equipping knowledge on gender, gender mainstreaming, and improving capacity to implement gender equality.
In 2024, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union invited experts to impart knowledge and skills on gender equality to leaders and officials at the provincial and district levels. The Central Presidium of the Vietnam Women's Union also organized training on this content in Dong Hoi City for leaders and officials at the district and provincial levels.
In the coming time, the Provincial Women's Union will continue to promote training, capacity building, skills improvement, and knowledge update related to the implementation of Project 8 in the province. In particular, focusing on training by holding hands and observing successful models in the community to change the thinking, awareness and working methods of participants.
