The Commune People's Committee regularly consolidates and improves the Commune Health Care Steering Committee to mobilize resources to strive to maintain the implementation of the National Criteria for Commune Health by 2030. The local Party Committee and government direct departments, branches, and socio-political organizations from the commune to the village to closely coordinate and integrate propaganda, mobilization, and health care for the people. Carry out propaganda and mobilization campaigns well, combined with providing reproductive health care and family planning services to each residential area and each subject. The Commune Health Station is built spacious, clean, and beautiful; invested in basic medical equipment, meeting national health standards. The team of doctors and nurses is well-trained, meeting the requirements of primary health care for the people. The Health Station promotes the role of a professional agency to promote propaganda and mobilize people to effectively implement policies on population and family planning. To effectively carry out population and development work, the commune has built and arranged a sufficient number of cadres and collaborators (CTV) with 1 cadre and 8 population collaborators. Regularly send population cadres and collaborators to participate in training courses to improve management capacity and organize program implementation, content: process of collecting and updating population information in the area, content of recording, statistical reporting according to forms... With the motto "going to every alley, knocking on every door, checking every subject", the population work team regularly propagates so that all people understand the Party's policies and guidelines, the State's policies and laws on population work in the new situation. Focus on direct consultation with couples of childbearing age, minors, students, the elderly... Communication activities are organized in many forms: integrating population content in meetings, activities in residential areas, associations, unions, vaccination campaigns; propaganda on mass media, loudspeaker systems; through leaflets, billboards, posters; taking advantage of social networks Facebook, Zalo. The communication content has many innovations, richness, suitable for the psychology of each subject on the issues: reducing gender imbalance at birth; CSSKSS for adolescents and young people; sex education, gender equality and counseling, pre-marital health check-ups; implementing modern contraceptive methods, socializing contraceptive means, improving population quality... From 2024 to present, the whole commune has 464 households receiving direct consultation and propaganda on population issues at the household level from collaborators; organizing 64 propaganda sessions on population work in the commune with 793 participants.

Implementing the Birth Rate Adjustment Program through the Integrated Communication Campaign to Provide Population - Family Planning Services, the Commune Health Station has provided free modern contraceptive methods according to the provisions of Circular 26/2018/TT-BTC dated March 21, 2018 of the Ministry of Finance for poor and near-poor households, policy families and propagated and mobilized other groups of people to voluntarily apply modern contraceptive methods according to the price of family planning services in Resolution 48/2017/NQ-HDND dated July 10, 2017 of the Provincial People's Council; organized the reception and timely provision of safe, diverse, convenient, and standard contraceptive methods. The program to screen for disease abnormalities, congenital disabilities and improve population quality has been focused on promoting communication activities in the community through a team of population collaborators directly mobilizing at households. Thanks to the attention, consultation and support in the reproductive health care - family planning, people in the commune have a more positive awareness in medical examination and treatment and participate in implementing health programs; many couples proactively apply modern contraceptive methods, plan and maintain reasonable childbearing intervals, and build a prosperous and happy family. In 2024, the whole commune has 1,061/1,285 couples of childbearing age using modern contraceptive methods, reaching a rate of 82.56%; pregnant women are screened and screened for 4 diseases before birth, reaching a rate of 87.09%; the rate of newborns screened and screened for 5 diseases is 98.76%.

Implementing the Health Care Program for the Elderly in Nam Dinh Province until 2030, the Commune Health Station regularly disseminates to the people measures to care for the elderly; medical examination and treatment; support for care and management of chronic diseases and non-communicable diseases at home for the elderly in the area. By the end of 2024, the commune had 1,297/1,796 elderly people with health insurance cards, reaching a rate of 72.2%; 848 elderly people received periodic health check-ups at least once a year. On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons on October 1, the Commune Health Station coordinated with the Commune Elderly Association to organize health check-ups, consultations, and free medicine distribution for the elderly, thereby mobilizing families and communities to care for and care for the elderly.

In the coming time, Nam Thang commune will continue to promote propaganda activities, raise awareness for cadres and people about population work and development in the new situation, thereby changing population behavior in a positive direction; maintain the implementation of programs to improve population quality, prenatal and newborn screening programs, premarital health consultation and examination, and health care for the elderly. Continue to reduce the gender imbalance at birth, adapt to population aging and health care for the elderly, improve population quality.
