Ha Tinh A 12th grade male student was driving a motorbike at high speed and hit a traffic police officer on duty at a alcohol concentration measuring checkpoint in Ha Tinh City on the evening of January 17.
At around 8 p.m., a working group from the Traffic Police Department (Ha Tinh Provincial Police) was on duty measuring alcohol levels on Ha Huy Tap Street. When they spotted a male student driving a motorbike at high speed, Traffic Police Ho Sy Tich signaled him to stop and was knocked down on the street.

Mr. Tich was seriously injured and was taken by his teammates to the Department of Neurosurgery, Ha Tinh General Hospital for treatment.
Working with the police, the male student said he was a 12th grader at a high school in Ha Tinh City. Authorities accused him of disobeying orders and speeding past the alcohol concentration measuring checkpoint.

In recent days, Ha Tinh police have set up a series of alcohol concentration checkpoints in 13 districts, towns and cities.
